From Library Journal
This is the second in the publisher's series, following Secrets in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks (National Photographic Collections, 1990). It is primarily a book of photographs of the geological formations, fauna, and flora of these three national parks. There is a brief introductory section to each park, which tells the "Geological Story" and the "History of Humans." Each image is accompanied by the photographer's name, along with technical details--film, lens, speed, etc.--that will be of interest to camera fans. The author is a professional wildlife photographer, and many of the photos are hers. The book is very well produced, the photographs are superb, and the introductory material is easy to understand. However, do libraries need yet another picture book on the national parks? Purchase only where there is demand.
