I would highly recommend this book as the photographic quality and subject matter are both well above the usual national park offerings that you see. In addition, the author gives shooting details which help determine how the photographer got the shot. Good stuff.

Lorraine Salem Tufts takes the reader on a visually breathtaking photo tour of The Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce Canyon -- three of the most spectacular parks in the West. Each park is featured in its own separate section. Each section offers a very consise(1-2 page)geological history, as well as a brief history of human influence from prehistoric hunter-gatherers to current administrative challenges. The photos alone are worth the price, showing the unusual geological formations, plants, and animals of these parks. The spectacular photos are taken in unique lighting and weather conditions - most visitors will not see such beauty in a typical visit. If you've never been to these parks, the book is a great introduction without weighing you down with too much overbearing information. If you have been to the parks, this book will answer some of your questions about what you saw at these incredibly beautiful national treasures.

An extremely well presented book. Very informative ,well written and brilliant photography. Excellent stuff.
