5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Who Dunit, June 21, 2005
This review is from: Secrets of Lost Arrow (Fortune Teller's Club Series) (Paperback)
Juniper, Gena and Anne are spending spring break with Juniper's grandmother in Lost Arrow. Something strange is going on in the graveyard. Can the Fortune Tellers Club solve the mystery? This is the fourth in the series of mystic mysteries for middle-age readers. This is a great middle-school page turner. There's mystery to keep the pages turning and some creative problem solving, too. Even at the end, you're not totally sure "who dunit." It's a nice story for someone other than a 12-year-old's parents to remind them that things/people aren't always as they seem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book 4 In The Fortune Tellers Club Series, July 23, 2004
This review is from: Secrets of Lost Arrow (Fortune Teller's Club Series) (Paperback)
Secrets of Lost Arrow is book 4 of The Fortune Tellers Club series, and is told from the perspective of Juniper Lynch. Juniper has a true gift of seeing the future, and founded the Fortune Tellers Club in elementary school. She's an honor student, attends dance classes, and collects divination tools.

In this book, Juniper invites Anne and Gena to her grandmother's house in the town of Lost Arrow for Spring break. It doesn't take long for Juniper to realize that her Nan is acting strangely when the sun goes down. Why is her grandmother sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night? What is that mysterious glow over the cemetery that creeps toward Nan's house? Does the legend of Chief Lightfoot have anything to do with the swamp gas? Using Gena's handmade divination tool "The Genie", as well as some old fashioned sleuthing, Juniper gets to the bottom of the mysterious happenings at Lost Arrow.

The Fortune Tellers Club is a delightful series by professional storyteller Dotti Enderle. This series, geared towards ages 9-12, features three best friends--Juniper Lynch, Anne Donovan, and Gena Richmond--who use divination to solve mysteries, explain relationships, and understand life experiences.

It was interesting to see the Club in another setting besides their hometown, but I didn't find Book 4 to be *quite* as good as Books 2, 3, and 5. Still, fans of the series will enjoy Secrets Of Lost Arrow.

The fourth book in the Fortune Tellers Club series SECRETS OF THE LOST ARROW is a splendid piece of work. Author, Dotti Enderle, has filled the book with anticipation, suspense, and intrigue.

Juniper and her brother Jonathon goes to their Nan's house during spring break every year. This year, Jonathon was too sick to go, so Juniper's friends Anne and Gena went instead. Before warning her friends that Nan does not approve of fortune telling, the girls packed a few small fortune-telling gadgets in their suitcases.

Juniper enjoys showing her friends the few places there is to go in Lost Arrow-one of which is a small cemetery that sits behind Nan's backyard. On the first day, the girls find mystery, a local legend, and scary ghost tales. When a strange and eerie fog rolls in and Nan shuts all the curtains and spaces out in the living room, Juniper, Anne, and Gena begin to unravel the secrets of Lost Arrow.

If you have read book one or two of the Fortune Tellers Club, then you are already hooked, if you have not read any of the Fortune Tellers Club books, then stop what you are doing and order each one today! You will not regret it.

This well-written book is perfect for middle-grade children (ages 8-12). Its characters are realistic and the have quirky, humorous dialogue will keep the reader turning the pages.
