I've read this writer's words before, and I was very anxious to get my hands on a book collection. After reading the book, I understood it's title -Secrets Of My Soul because the writer not only reveals some truths about herself, but she also reveals truth about us all. She speaks of love and family, life and religion in such an honest and for real fashion, that you're left feeling as though you just got up from a classic conversation. If you're seeking inspiration and a writer to reckon with, get this book! You will enjoy it and read it over and over again.

What a triump for the soul! I keep reading it over and over again. This author knows exactly how to feed a soul and give you what you need the most to feed that hunger. A lightbulb went off in my head when I read the pages. I have encouraged all of my friends to go out and get this excellent book. Secrets of My Soul is a triump for the soul!

I was eager to read Faison's latest book of poetry titled Secrets of My Soul.
Her first poetry book (Poetically Speaking to the Heart, Mind, Body, and Soul)
left me speechless with its flow and rhythms, and I had hoped that Faison would
deliver the same powerful words to me again. I was NOT disappointed.

Faison once again opens up her heart and soul to reveal her thoughts on her
identity, love, love lost, spirituality, black men, and the joys and pains of
the world to which we live in.

Some of my particular favorite poems were the title poem, Secrets of My Soul,
Fast Girls, And He Kills A Dream, To One Million Black Men, A Woman in Today's
World, Rev. Dr. Do Right, and Wake Up!

In poetry, the "word" is so very important. Every word has to be just right in
order to resonate a poem's powerful meanings. In Latorial Faison's case, she has
a Ph.D. in the WORD, and everyone should embrace their meanings. This is a definite
must read for poetry lovers and just word lovers.

Secrets Of My Soul took me from my early years sitting in tall chairs with my mother braiding my hair, to answering my own questions regarding the love, desires and mysteriousness of a woman's soul. This is a collection of poetry for all women, and men. I am sure the women who read this touching collection will sign their Amens with Latorial, and the men will nod and mumble, `I understand now'. Buy this book! You won't regret it!

And that's exactly what Latorial Faison has given in "Secrets Of My Soul"--- not mere words--- but an incredible experience!
When I began reading the collection, I expected to finish in one sitting. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was limiting myself to 3-5 poems per night. Once submerged in the chambers of her heart, I clearly needed the extra time to bathe in her simple wisdoms and ponder each lesson shared.
As a fellow writer, I extend my deepest gratitude and admiration to Ms. Faison for unlocking the door to her soul and permitting entrance to those who dare to steal a peek.
Her work, in retrospect, is no less than heavenly!

This collection of poetry by Latorial Faison is so honest and well-written! Her range of topics touches so many places in me and I can relate to so many of the poems on a personal level. her writing has great depth and her strong spirituality and humanity resonates the pages. I loved the book, and highly recommend it to anyone!

Before I was an author I was a poet and Secrets of My Soul is why. I love words and the playful way that poets make words do what they say. Latorial Faison is indeed a poet. She had me from title poem and when I stumbled upon "Mirrored Soul," I knew I had found someone whose work I'd eat up...hungrily. I've also become a avid fan of haikus and #9 is my favorite with her wordplay with sun/Son. If you only buy the book for "You Never Did Own Me," trust that by the time you get to "I Dare You," you will be glad you did.

I truly enjoyed sinking into this book of poems! Ms. Faison has captured the heart of women. If ever there was a time you couldn't quite put a finger on your mood, you'll find yourself between these pages.This book is perfect for a quiet evening of introspection between lovers, or a rambunctious brunch with friends. Definitely a great gift.
