Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Alternatives to estrogen therapy and other medicinal menopausal cures are suggested in this self-help book. According to Ryneveld, menopause is not a disease; she prefers to see it as "a beginning, a birth of a spiritual wise woman." The author, who operates a health food store in Missouri, suggests specific herbal and vitamin treatments for various symptoms and supplies instructions on making tinctures, decoctions, infusions, liniments, and poultices. In place of drugs, yoga, herbs, dietary changes, and homeopathic remedies are suggested to cope with this phase of life. Denise Perry Donavin
