This book captures the true meaning behind the art. It debunks the "pop" view on kung fu made by the mass media. The history section breathes life into kung fu, giving the sense of kung fu being a way of life as well as a martial art. An honest, and realistic view on the true meaning of studying martial arts.

I recently bought this book, and I must say emediately DON'T BUY IT ! Book has about 130 pages, and about half of these book is braging (hope that I used right word). It is possible that Sifu Lai Hung is real master, but this book is only moneymaker! There is only 40-50 pages of practical techniques, and very basic ones too. I would never recomend this book to anyone. There is much better boks like Shaolin Long fist etc.

The Sifu Lai Hung and his disciple Brian Klingborg have created a wonderful and informative book. For those searching for the "right" martial art, this book deftly weaves the art along with the grace and skill of Northern Shaolin Kung-Fu. The pictures are dark at times, lending an air of mystique to the overall form and function of Kung-Fu. Sifu Lai Hung's ability and presence radiates off of the page.
