Two Wrongs Don't Make It Right!, July 25, 2011
This review is from: The Secrets of Paradise Bay (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
There were many secrets going on in Paradise Bay, Oregon that came full circle after Ivana Lancaster decided to even the score with her cheating husband. Ivana's infidelity included her husband's baby brother(Clyde Lancaster) that was released from prison after spending 9 years for assaulting his ex-best friend Willie Munroe. Willie finds out that Clyde is released from prison and wants to even the score with his childhood friend. Ivana's wounded heart and Clyde Lancaster(Trey's brother)instant attraction to his brother's wife ignited the fires between the two people that Trey loved the most. Will Ivana and Clyde's secrets destroy both troubled relationships? The author wrote a complete story that left no opened-ended questions. Although it was rather predictable at times, I still enjoyed the excitement and roller coaster ride of the plot. I'd recommend the read. Overall rating: 3.5

Am I My Brother's Keeper?, August 3, 2010
This review is from: The Secrets of Paradise Bay (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
It's strange how siblings can be raised in the same home, taught the same morals and values, but choose different paths in life. Take for instance brothers, Trey and Clyde Lancaster. Trey wants the best things life has to offer and worked very hard to become the most successful man in Paradise Bay. On the other hand, Clyde becomes overshadowed by Trey's accomplishments and chooses a life of crime, which lands him in prison. Being the most successful man in Paradise Bay has awarded Trey wealth and respect. His marriage to a lovely and beautiful former model completes his life. But when he confesses to an affair, his marriage is plagued with grief and heartache, and forgiveness doesn't look promising. Clyde is released from prison and is on the road to a new beginning. His brother invites him into his home and lends him a helping hand to get back on his feet. Reluctantly Clyde accepts his brother's offer, but he's met with opposition from Trey's wife. Soon a one night stand between Clyde and his sister-in-law covers him in guilt. THE SECRETS OF PARADISE BAY held me in a vise from the beginning to the end. As Archer skillfully portrayed the unsettled issues between the brothers, while the heartfelt emotions of Trey's wife had me feeling sorry for her. The secrets were great added ingredients to beef up the suspense. A nice summertime read! Reviewed by Sharon Lewis of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

fantastic romantic suspense family drama, July 25, 2010
This review is from: The Secrets of Paradise Bay (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
In Paradise Bay, Oregon, Trey Lancaster hurt his wife Ivana Kendall-Lancaster and their marriage when he had an affair with the spouse of a client six moths ago. Feeling ashamed for what he did to his former supermodel wife, Trey invites his brother Clyde to stay with them without consulting Ivana. Clyde, just released from prison following an assault conviction, accepts his wealthy sibling's offer. Ivana is irate with her husband for ignoring her when he made this decision. Clyde and Ivana begin an affair from almost the moment he arrives. However, he feels guilty for making love to his sister-in-law while she is confused wondering which brother she loves. When Clyde meets Stefani the singer he becomes further disoriented as he no longer understands his feelings. Meanwhile Willie Munroe owes Clyde and plans to pay back using the brother, the wife and the crooner as expendable pawns. The Secrets of Paradise Bay is a fantastic romantic suspense family drama with a strong ensemble cast who each has major issues. The tension mounts on two subplots as the brothers seem ready to commit fratricide with each irate with the other and the Munro retribution entry that grips the audience with a sense of pending doom. Devon Vaughn Archer provides a great tale in which sibling rivalry may prove deadly if they fail to reconcile. Harriet Klausner
