A Lady's Quest by Bonnie Hamre Rating: 5 Stars Heat level: H
Lady Antonia Blair-Sutworth is a widow with no intentions of remarrying. Dougal MacDonald, the seventh Duke of Sutherland, has plans to change her mind. However, he must get around her and her inane ideas of searching for a new lover.
A Lady's Quest is a historical with a wonderfully independent woman, almost too independent. However, she has her reasoning's and they are understandable. The way in which this woman sets out to thwart the Duke is erotic and exciting. Dougal, WOW, he is everything he is rumored to be in this story; strong, passionate, and possessive! The interaction between these two determined, independent, and strong willed people is the best I've read in a while. All this makes A Lady's Quest an absolute pleasure to read
The Spinner's Dream by Alice Gaines Rating: 4 Stars Heat level: H
Kareth sa-Damil is in self imposed exile to seek help of the goddess Dendra. She needs to purify herself and her soul due to an error in judgment. Her solitude is disturbed by an escaped churl (slave) and the Catchers on his tail. Because of her aversion to blood and violence, Kareth agrees to protect Thiele and get rid of his catchers. Though Kareth wants the Thiele gone she can't force him to leave as he is wounded. When Thiele demands to repay her with his body, Kareth tries not to submit, but she is such a sensual creature and can't hold out long.
The Spinner's Dream is a wonderfully written and easy to follow science fiction story. Most of the times I need a sci-fi fan to "explain" things to me; however, this story flowed so well I didn't feel lost at all. The explanations were woven subtly into the story, enabling me to understand immediately the world in which I found myself. Kareth is a naive woman who believed one man and found herself in trouble. She fights against her attraction to the strong, alpha Thiele and his body. However, being a sensual being, she just can't fight long and soon sex and love ensue! Much to my reading enjoyment. I definitely recommend this story to every one, especially lovers of sci-fi romance!
The Gift by Jeanie LeGendre Rating: 4 Stars Heat level: H
Alessandra de Got, niece of the French diplomat, is in trouble. She has been abducted and presented as The Gift to the Sultan. She knows what happens to women in the Sultan's haremlik and refuses to become one of them. Though she knows it can mean her death, Alessandra challenges the Sultan to get to know her as a woman instead of a sex slave.
*sigh* The Gift was so romantic to me. Both the Sultan and Alessandra work hard to prove their points to each other. In this battle of wits there can be only one winner . . . or can there be two? Alessandra is both an independent and extremely intelligent woman. The Sultan is just as smart as she is, not to mention sultry and handsome. When these two are together, the heat is raised but nothing comes of this until the end of the story; keeping the reader on edge until it happens! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and hope you do too!
The Proposal by Ivy Landon Rating: 3/4 Stars Heat level: H
Tracey Vennet has been President of CEO Craig Logan's company, as well as his lover. Their relationship is perfect . . . well except for the boring sex. Craig has a proposal to run by her and demands her obedience in following his directions before she can answer the proposal.
The Proposal is a very interesting and extremely erotic short story. The only thing I had trouble grasping was Tracey's not realizing that she enjoys sex with pleasure and pain. A grown woman should have had some glimpse of this bit of information about herself. However, Craig shows her the type of sex he is certain she will enjoy. Both have noticed a lack of excitement during their couplings and Craig refuses to take their relationship to a higher level until he tests his theory. Though Tracey is against the new form of sex in the beginning, she soon realizes and accepts her need for it. This story already has the love established making it a purely (and enjoyable) erotic read that I'm certain you will like as I did.
