5.0 out of 5 stars The end-all for natural health solutions!
Secrets of Self-Healing contains an unbelievable amount of information! It really opened my eyes to the fact that we all have the innate power to heal our own bodies. There is of course, a time and place for doctors, but the point is that you can't just expect doctors to "fix" every ailment. A case in point: last week I felt myself coming down with a cold, so I flipped to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Contradiction
I think that many of the tips in this book have basis. However, there are instructions such as do not eat cold food, fruits and vegtables then in the next section it says to eat mangos and bananas... huh? which, do or don't.

I was also amazed that the herbal teas needed to be taken 3 times a day for 3 weeks before notice change... not a great thing for a...

Secrets of Self-Healing contains an unbelievable amount of information! It really opened my eyes to the fact that we all have the innate power to heal our own bodies. There is of course, a time and place for doctors, but the point is that you can't just expect doctors to "fix" every ailment. A case in point: last week I felt myself coming down with a cold, so I flipped to the remedies for cold & flu. I made myself the tea from garlic, ginger, and scallions, got right under the covers to sweat out the pathogens, as suggested, and the next day I felt an amazing improvement. But to really hit home the point, I could have followed Dr. Maoshing Ni's advice for keeping my immune system strong and never become ill in the first place! I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to discover natural ways to get in good health and stay in good health.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Absolute Best Alternative Health Reference - And It Works!, December 7, 2008
The five-star reviews here say it all really along with the excellent detail page itself. I have one comment to add: if you only purchased this amazingly thorough reference to obtain the accurate accupressure points for countless ailments from which you or a loved one suffers - the book would pay for itself in no time flat. No book I have ever read provides these points that one can do at home watching TV, reading, writing (use the other hand!) as long as you are relaxed while doing so and of course, breathing! Absolutely a must-have for everyone who wants the shortest distance between two points.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY comprehensive, January 9, 2008

sassi518 (Cupertino, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Having studied TCM and the energy movement arts for several years, I was so very glad to see it all integrated in one book....and by an author who lives, teaches, and practices these 'secrets'. How fortunate he is sharing them with us.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Intro To Chinese Medicine, April 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For those people living in the West, used to those types of remedies and drugs which cannot be even pronounced, this book is a gateway to a new world.

It is a great introduction to alternative and Chinese medicine for those interested in learning about it and practically implementing it into their daily, practical lives.

As a skeptic of the whole thing, I approached the book with doubts, due to the fact that a lot of Western medical doctors are not really for Eastern medicine. But ironically, as I tried and tested some of the methods of healing for my own ailments, it truly proved to be effective.

It changed my perspective on Eastern medicine and made me realize that health and well-being are not just found in some magical pill. But rather everything from spirituality and self-awareness all the way to proper diet and excercise all contribute to good health.

I highly recommend this book for all those looking to achieve optimum wellness and are at the same time, prepared to implement its instructions practically.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets of Self-healing book, February 13, 2008
A great book for all those who want to stay healthy at all ages. A must have for those people, like me, that practice Tai-Chi. Eastern and Western medicine as complimentary treatments are very well explained.

I purchased this book after reading a review somewhere else. I thought it would be a book to sit down and read and then be able to make some healthy lifestyle decisions. However, much to my suprise, it is a very good reference book for natural means to cure what ails you. I have used this book quite a few times to give suggestions to others in my life and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a natural way to cure most common ailments.
