DISCLAIMER:
I didn't know about this book until I met the author at a social event during the summer. She was nice and talked about this book that she wrote, and I'm single, so I figured why not read it? I was curious too, maybe I could get some pointers! haha. anyways...

I don't want to write a long review on this one, but I can honestly say it's a good book. It's short but full of great information and advice to take back. I agree with many things in the book, including, waiting to respond to messages, on Facebook or wherever (you don't want to be TOOOO available), where to find/meet guys, and also about how to know if a guy likes you. That information is really true! and I highly recommend it to all singles out there, guys and girls.

There is a lot of truth to what Ms. Avi writes. And That's REALLY important. Everyone has to be honest with themselves and she what they have to offer and what gets in their way. Even if it might hurt to hear it, it will leave you better.

The book was funny and well written. My only criticism is that Ms. Avi is a little harsh on guys. She expects that all guys will want to provide, will want to chase tail, and will be up for a challenge of keeping up with a Jewish goddess. I'm not saying guys like this aren't out there, I'm saying they're really hard to find! Most guys in the Jewish community are a bit more shy and reserved. Acting like a "shika" might scare some of them away. They don't KNOW to come after YOU, so what to do?

Alas, she makes the point that if you want a husband (not a baby) that perhaps you should only be letting those go-getters-guys-who-are-up-for-the-challenge guys, to chase you. If you can find them.

Overall, this book is REALLY funny, packs lots of great advice and is QUICK to read.

I definitely recommend it to all singles out there. Jewish, shiksa, or whatever.

I heard about this book in an article in NY Jewish week and it sounded a little controversial. I decided to see what the buzz was about, and loved it. Secrets of Shiksa Appeal gave real advice to Jewish women on what men really want such as not being overly aggressive and letting him take control. It was a quick read and as long as you can handle a little bit of frank-ness, you'll enjoy it...and learn something too!

Read it!
