Review

A big book about a big idea: How to lead with vision, purpose, and integrity. --Greensboro News & Record

About the Author

General H. Hugh Shelton's leadership is well documented. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces Group and the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Following the Gulf War, he commanded the 82nd Airborne Division, led the Joint Task Force responsible for Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and was then promoted to the rank of general and the position of the commander-in-chief of the U.S. Special Operations Command. Later, General Shelton was named the 14th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he was principal military advisor to the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Agency. Following his retirement in 2001, he chose to serve his alma mater, NC State University, by creating the General H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Center.
