This review is from: Secrets of the Survivors (Hardcover)
When misfit boy named Alex Hidalgo saves a lizard's life in the park one day, he and his diverse group of friends are quickly brought into a struggle against an evil alliance of alien conquerors and their cruel spacefaring allies who ride prehistoric monsters such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops! Though packed with adventure, science, Brazilian martial arts, invisible spaceships, and plenty of action, there remains at its heart a story about a group of young people who come to a greater understanding of the modern world in which they live. The human characters are very diverse- two are immigrants from Africa, Alex and his sister have a father from Mexico and a mother from the U.S., and a boy named Ghet O'Malley is an Irish-American who suffers from the bleeding problem known as hemophilia. The book is also packed with exciting discoveries from the world of science. Everyone that I know who has read the book loves the story! This book will change the way that you think about reptiles forever!
