I liked this book because it was fun and easy to read and gave great examples for checking not only the emotional stakes in a client relationship but the key elements of success as well. The stories she tells act as seamless segues into crucial elements of success which she highlights throughout the book. Definitely an easy and pleasant way to hone in on foundational principals.

I loved reading Paula's book. Easy to read and full of great stories you can relate and learn from. I found out about this book when I saw Paula give a talk as a guest speaker. I loved the way she carried & expressed herself. The book is written as an honest story about her life, evolution & mind shift she had to make from being a scientist to become a top producer in Real Estate. Smart woman that's for sure. I am also a Realtor in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay) and I don't know Paula but I do admire her from a far. She is a rock-star in my mind. I recommend every realtor & sales professional read this book.

This book has the feel of an autobiography rather than a sales book. Paula shares a lot of personal stories that are interesting but long winded. After the second chapter you want her to just get to the point. It's not a book that really enlightens on real secrets on selling. The tips mentioned are in any motivational or sales book. Interesting read but low on the information sales scale.

Secrets of a Top Salesperson is an excellent handbook in organizing your business and understanding how to measure its effectiveness. It was written in a down-to-earth and interesting style and tells the in's-and-out's of surviving the real estate market.

Business acumen well synchronized with life experience - a well rounded read!,
By C. Clancy "Legal Professional" (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets of a Top Salesperson: How Emotions Make or Break The Sale (Paperback)
As a legal professional (20 years of paralegal experience), this was a refreshingly rich read on a subject matter that has the potential to be painfully dry. Paula's recounting of her personal perspectives, intuitions, failures and successes tranlate into inspirational lessons that are applicable for anyone in the business of selling a service - not limited to real estate. Aside from the important lessons Ms. Pagano shares based on her lengthy residential sales experience, the book is a great read, and I recommend it to novices and established professionals alike. Ms. Pagano adroitly demonstrates how honest and tough self appraisal is life's most valuable tool for personal and professional growth and success.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Secrets of a Top Salesperson". It was refreshing to learn how one woman's journey into successful business was shaped by emotions. Most business how-to books give you 'scripts' to read and memorize to handle clients and customers. Paula went to the heart of the matter and reminds you that people all have emotions- and working WITH the emotions in business can make you successful too.

Puts the person back in salesperson,

A different, but realistic, way to view sales. A great way to remember that its not just the product, but the salesperson, that needs to be polished into a selling gem. Instead of just dryly telling readers how to become great salespeople, the author tells you how SHE managed to climb the ladder and try to use herself as an example to help others learn. I'm a grad student who doesn't plan on making sales a career, but still got helpful hints for living my life.

Ms. Pagano made her business come alive -- all ranges of emotion from anxiety to joy. Mixing in the "hellpful hints" with appropriate anecdotes made this book a fun page turner. Although I'm not a realtor but am in sales for a different industry, I found this book refreshing and informative and a genuine feel good experience!

This review is from: Secrets of a Top Salesperson: How Emotions Make or Break The Sale (Paperback)
In Secrets of a Top Salesperson, there are practical real-world situations that everyone, whether in sales or not, will relate to at least fifty percent of the time. The book doesn't claim to be scientific with a formula to win the world! Instead, the author shares her intimate and personal experiences in an accessible, fast-moving and entertaining fashion, with insights that could be applicable in any life situation. Thank you.
