Book Description

A diet which is mostly RAW / or 70 % RAW containing lots of fruit and veg has many long term health benefits including the resolve/ delay/ offset of many Western style 'affluent' diseases. Of course weightloss/ fat reduction will go hand in hand with RAW food diets due to the due to the high fibre/water content and the high level and absorption of EFA's (essentail fatty acids), minerals and vitamins. Other major benefits of going RAW include the increase in enzyme behaviour and production within the body especially if cooked food is heated to within a temperature of 112 deg fahrenheit (44.4 deg Celcius).

The benefits of a 'Raw Food Diet' are not just in the fighting and prevention of disease but the vast improvement in health and energy. Only when the body is detoxified, healthy and rejuvenated can fat and weight loss be achieved! Otherwise, losing weight by fads, weight loss pills, surgery and restrictive diets may work in the short term but are not a long term solution. Poor health, toxicity and acidity will surely follow as well as the return of extra body weight and abdominal fat..

There are many types of Raw Food Diets and they all act as a stepping stones to being totally RAW. A total 100% Raw Vegan Diet is probably the hardest to achieve out of all Raw Food Diets but from the research carried out this diet has the highest health benefits of all leaving you toxic free, light on your feet and full of energy.

We look at all the Raw Food Diets there are including the best ones to start with so you may only start 70% RAW with 30% of your foods cooked. This is known as a 'Mainstream Raw Food Diet'. We also show you how to gradually eliminate toxic foods from your life, the essential healthy foods you will need for your kitchen and how to prepare your kitchen for eating RAW.

By going RAW or 70% RAW does not mean you cannot enjoy your life. The beauty of RAW foods is that they are high in fibre, vitamins and minerals and you can eat until you are completely satisfied. There are no restrictions here and importantly no counting of calories (we will tell you why later) and you can still lose weight and improve your health. Furthermore, raw vegan foods are not boring as the extensive menu/ recipes in the final chapter includes tasty shakes, raw naked chocolate (cacao) cakes, raw naked chocolate brownies, raw cheesecakes, raw soups and other raw dishes such as raw lasagne, raw suschi which are loaded with vital vitamins & minerals, amino acids, EFA's, fibre and complex carbohydrates.

Malik has been a health conscious vegetarian for over 30 years. In the last 10 years he has been actively promoting Raw Food with Cafe Grace Bath, UK. Cafe Grace organises Raw Food 'Pot Lucks' and work shops on a weekly basis. A chance meeting with Dave 'Avocado' Wolfe in Glastonbury 2 years ago has inspired Malik to undertake research into vegan dishes/ desserts that include superfoods such as the raw chocolate cacao bean. Due to the popularity of these desserts such as the Ananda Brownie and Raw Naked Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake, Cafe Grace now appears at events/ festivals around the country. For more information on Malik and CafeGraceBath visit We hope you allow us to show you how to take that first step to a full or partial RAW Vegan Diet, thereby re-energising your life and all those around you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Transitioning to a raw vegan diet November 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
About 10 years ago, I switched to a 50/50 diet - 50% raw food (mostly salads) and 50% cooked food. I didn't really learn about it from anywhere, just experimented with it on my own. It worked really well for me. I have occasionally strayed from it over the years, but always seem to come back to it since it makes me feel the best.

Even though I've been doing it for a while, I went ahead and picked up this book to learn more about raw food diets. (I admit the low price grabbed me, especially for a 60 page Kindle book). What I've been eating is a bit like what they call the "mainstream raw food diet" - though they say it should be more like 70% raw to 30% cooked for that diet. They do suggest that you could use a diet like mine as a starting point to transition to a raw vegan diet.

The book makes a good case for a raw vegan diet. It has a good seven-step motivational plan for transitioning to the diet, plus a good section on what to stock in your pantry for a raw food diet. There are only four recipes at the end. I would to have seen more recipes, and maybe a checklist version of the information in the pantry section. But overall, this is a great, short read to help you build the mindset for a raw food diet.

1.0 out of 5 stars horribly written January 19, 2014

There is some good info, binturong nothing new. The grammar, spelling, ("brake the fast"?) sentence butchery, and redundant paragraphs make this a book to avoid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait to make all kinds of notes and get started! January 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I started getting serious about losing weight and changing lifestyle before Christmas when I purchased a program that is very similar to this one with the concept of getting back to all natural. I even started doing it some but something about this book really has me motivated and ready to get serious.

I like the way this book is laid out; the info about the author really helps to personalize it too.

I also like the fact that there are additional books with recipes and additional information.

And, being a sweets fan (unfortunately), I love the fact that there is a "raw" cheesecake recipe with me in mind - no doubt.

Anxious to give it a try as well as changing my eating habits with this easy to read and follow book as a guide. Thanks to author for writing it!

4.0 out of 5 stars The truth about raw food December 26, 2012
By joszter
Format:Kindle Edition
It's well known worldwide that raw food contains all the minerals and vitamins in their original form. When you eat vegetables or fruits in their uncooked version you gain all the benefits they can give you. Once you change their texture by backing or boiling them, you loose big part of the nutrition they can proved. I am very happy to find this book and to get great ideas from it!

More About the Author

Malik's love for life and health led him into a chance meeting with some like minded people in Bath and Somerset including Dave 'Avocado' Wolfe from the Sun Food Diet System and Longevity Now. Through discovering and learning the benefits of raw living food and with the practice of Naam Yoga, has emerged Positive Living Bath and Café Grace.

Malik is passionate about raw living food and believes it to be one of the foundations to vitality and health, In some ways it is akin to aikido (a state of harmony and flow). We begin to clear the system or learn to become non resistant which then allows the flow of energy, giving more for less, becoming more efficient with less effort and less consumption.

Malik believes that by growing your own food is ultimately the way to really connect with nature and people. Not everyone has the feeling to do their own organic food growing and can choose to buy from the local organic farm shop, which we are blessed with having so many organic farms to support.

Malik continues to make delicious raw food cakes from the cacao bean as well as a variety of raw vegan dishes at Cafe Grace Bath. A promotor of the raw food 'Pot Luck' as well as raw food workshops, raw living and living in natural magic. You can find out more by visiting the blogs
