I have read every Secrets volume there is, and this one is by far my favorite. The stories range from poignant to funny, and the quality of writing seems to get better with every volume. My only complaint is the cover. The original silk and roses covers were much classier, particularly if you plan to read these books in public. I used to take my Secrets volumes to the gym, but not any more. (As I post this the cover image still isn't up, but it's similar to those for volumes 17 and 18: half naked hunky man clutched by a woman.)

...but I'm incredibly glad I picked this one up. Though each story was obviously carefully-selected (and well-chosen I might add), the balance and variety between them created an excellent reading experience that I would otherwise have missed had I read each of the stories individually.
That said, while all the stories were excellent I found a unique charm in R. Ellen Ferare's "Toy in the Attic." Something about the main character really pulled at me, and I found myself easily following her misadventures with the hunky gentleman of her fantasies-come-true. While the first chapter seemed to suffer either from choppy writing or overediting (I suspect the latter), the overall piece really impressed me. I don't usually read smut for the writing, but this one was actually well-composed. If anyone has any idea where else I can find pieces by Ms. Ferare, please let me know--I've searched the internet in vain. One thing's for sure: this was a great buy and I recommend it. I may even check out future Secrets.

I wanted this volume for a long time, and was so disappointed by the stories within.
Affliction - First of all, there wasn't enough info on the back to explain the story, so it just jumps right into something you don't expect, and not in a good way. Then, when her husband comes back, it's a terrible encounter that left me feeling so confused. Falling Stars - This was the worst one. Daria was just a stupid slut, who pushed away a man who loved her with all his heart. It was so annoying to read about how she slept with almost every guy who even had one line of dialogue in the story. And it was so long and drawn out. Toys in the Attic - Interesting at first. But then it got a little...well, boring. What You Wish For - This one was cute, and should have ended sooner, but it, too, was drawn on and on too long. I would keep this volume, if the sex scenes were actually...sexy. But they're not even that. They were boring and not very erotic.
