5.0 out of 5 stars The Secrets of Wealth Review, October 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
As someone who has been involved in Real Estate Investing for close to a decade and having become financially free because of my properties, I'm always a little leery of any finance book that talks about real estate because books on the subject often overpromise and don't deliver. They hype what can be done with real estate and don't show the hard work that you need to do. Marciano doesn't do that with his book "The Secrets of Wealth".
Secret #8 (Real Estate is Free) alone is worth the price of his book. A must Read if you're serious about becoming financially free!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding! A must read., January 13, 2004

"taliarocks" (NJ, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
The Secrets of Wealth is an excellent resource on personal finance. But this is no boring textbook. It is actually written as a story (along the same lines as Rich Dad Poor Dad). Unlike Rich Dad, Poor Dad though, The Secrets of Wealth actually gives useful advice on how to achieve each step. Marciano breaks wealth building down to 10 secrets, and provides methods of implementing and using these secrets. The Secrets are revealed to the main character, David, by his mentor Mr. Mathers. Throughout the book are tips and techniques that anyone can use to improve their financial well being. The 10 steps aren't magical or difficult. Things like goal setting, investing, budgeting, and financial planning are nothing new, but Fabman gives you the knowledge and resources to actually achieve wealth. If this book cannot help you manage your finances, nothing can. Way to go Fabman!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Practical and Realistic Guide, March 22, 2006
By
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
This is a great book for beginners and intermediate-levels because it covers all of the basics in great detail. Unlike some get-rich books, this is more than just inspiration; it actually gives practical steps that are quite attainable for people who don't have much money. It gives information that is much needed by people who are in debt. Topics include planning, budgeting, building your investment portfolio (stocks, bonds, index funds, etc), getting out of debt, taxes, retirement plans (401k, etc), some real estate, and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Best, February 11, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
This is the best book I have read on personal wealth and finance and I have read most of them out their. I highly recommend this book for getting your financial life in order.

The book is laid out in a story format that keeps you interested until the end wishing there was more(luckly there is as the author has just published his second book that I eagerly await). I could not put it down. The author does a great job of providing additional information along with recommended reading at the end of each chapter.

I just wish there was a book like this 5 years ago.... I highly recommend reading this title!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!!!, October 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
There are no real shortcuts to wealth and we all know that, but this book provides the reader with a clear cut path to financial success.  The Secrets of Wealth delivers.  It's a simple to read (but very thorough) book on what Marciano's mentors taught him.

He's broken the secrets of getting rich into ten essential rules that you must follow. Many of these rules I had read before, but Marciano puts them all into one book and makes you understand not only WHY you should be following the rules, but he teaches you HOW to follow them and how to build wealth...the right way.

This book was a great read and I wish it was a little shorter, but nonetheless I think it's destined to be a classic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Handbook For Financial Freedom, October 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
What does it take to get rich? Do you know? After reading The
Millionaire Next Door my concept of the rich in this country changed. And after reading The Secrets of Wealth I now know that I CAN GET RICH WITHOUT EARNING A BIG SALARY or living like a pauper. While there aren't necessarily secrets, what the author shares with you is simply amazing and yet simple. The key is just doing 10 simple things and doing them consistently.

I don't do many reviews, but I read a lot of books on finance. This is one of the best I've read in a long, long time. It might bump The Wealthy Barber off the shelf as my new favorite #1 personal finance book. I've been recommending this book to everyone who will listen because following Marciano's MoneyWaster concept I saved over $150 a month in expenses.
On top of that, I also refinanced my mortgage and saved a bunch more. All because I followed just two of the Secrets of Wealth. Buy the book and put its wisdom to work for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great advice., October 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Secrets of Wealth: The Beginner's Guide to Financial Freedom (Paperback)
The author of the book admits that there are no secrets to wealth and that he didn't learn the information in the book from long-lost scrolls or any other silly stuff. This book is simply a great, straightforward book on the basics of financial management and it WILL have you on the path to financial Freedom as fabman (as he likes to call himself) likes to say. Take my advice and read this book and apply the lessons it contains. You'll be glad you did. Definitely one of the books to read in addition to Rich Dad Poor Dad and the Millionaire Next Door.

The author takes a tough / dry topic and makes it personal. It feels like he's talking directly with the reader. The down-to-earth style is easy to follow and keeps it interesting.

For anyone who has ever wondered what else is out there, but hasn't known how to have the financial security to explore - this book is for you.

This book is amazing! It is extremely practical and comprehensive. Anyone interested in becoming financially independent can benefit from it. I just purchased my second copy after reluctantly giving away my original copy to a good friend.
