New book now available to all Homeowners.
After 32 years in the industry, Amos Avitan has compiled this comprehensive book describing the inner workings of the contracting industry. Written in plain language, it reveals what plumbers, electricians, heating & air conditioning service and repairmen have been doing for years to boost their business. Often it is at the expense of you, the homeowner.
What you learn in this book might shock you. It will also help you save money.
With simple to follow step-by-step instructions (with a list of tools required for each job) it contains valuable information for homeowners, apartment / commercial building owners and property managers. This book makes it easy, even if you have never done anything like it before.
Basically, if you can wash, vacuum and do light repairs to your car, you can service your heating and cooling equipment, says the Vancouver author of his newly published book Secrets Your Contractor Wont Tell You.
He knows!
He has seen things from all different sides as a qualified technician, as the owner of a large contracting company, as a consultant and as a rental property owner. Amos Avitan shares his vast, practical knowledge with you in this book. His journey through the world of building and equipment maintenance began at the age of 17. He has always been fascinated with how things work, and his talent for 'all things mechanical' was quickly spotted.
"Don't move. You've got a job," were some of the first words he heard.
He went on to be the youngest contractor in Vancouver, Canada (1969), starting with the handsome total of $0 and a keen sense of what it took to get the job done. Within two years he had a staff of 25, and by 1981 his company employed 100 people and were spread over three offices, in three cities.
"When we trained apprentices, everybody wanted them. They were the best," says Amos proudly. His reputation spread and eventually he was asked to be involved in the formal inception of an innovative Building Commission course, incorporating many of the principle he developed in his own business. It is still part of the industry to this day.
Now he is eager to pass on what he learned to you. He holds nothing back in this book, and offers countless tips, advice and professional recommendations for maintaining and repairing common equipment such as hot water tanks, furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, water pipes and drains. If you only use one little bit of information contained in this book, you are guaranteed to be money ahead. What you do with the money you save is up to you.
