The Sector 9 Lennox Bamboo Complete Longboard Skateboard is a fast, smooth and fun riding board with a stylish swallow tail. The deck features a `W` concave and mild camber to add to its strength while still allowing a nice amount of flex.
I have never touched a skate or longboard in my life until just recently. I decided to get a longboard because of the extra stability and the fact that I didn't want to do tricks or nothing, just transportation and recreation. While I had my eyes on other Sector 9 boards, what helped me choose was actually going in to Zumiez and trying some out. I ended up choosing this one, and here's why:
Pros: - Very smooth ride. The wheels sped up within seconds of going downhill and had no problem going over bumpy concrete. - Great width of the board. I can put my feet on it easily and with enough space to feel stabilized. - I love the graphic. So much more colorful in person. - The grip tape was more rough than the others I tried out. It's not fine; it's almost rocky to the touch. It scraped up my fingers a bit but it grips onto your shoes really well. It's hard to fall off this thing. - The wheels are also decently hard. I was afraid they would dent when going over gravel or rocks but surprisingly they hold up well. - The wood itself is very durable. Some longboards felt too flexible to me. I wanted flexibility but also stability and that's exactly what I got with this one. You don't want to feel like you're riding too low or that you might break it. - It holds a decent amount of weight. I am around 125 lbs and I hardly make the board bend at all. My friend is 160 lbs, same thing. Even my dad got on it and he's closing in on 200 lbs and while the board bent, it was still holding him up fairly well. - The shape of the board is so cool. It looks like a surf board from the top. At first I wanted a board that had a scimitar/supermodel shape but found that this suits me just fine. Those models are more for bombing and sliding down hills anyway.Read more ›
