Product Description

Designed to give the photographer a remote view of the viewfinder image making it possible to see the subject even when the camera is at an awkward angle or even with the camera a distance away from the photographer. The S2 C is for DSLR cameras where the main Zigview unit slips over the viewfinder and captures a live image of the scene through the viewfinder using video technology and relays this to the attached swivel and turn screen. This screen can also be detached and with the addition of optional cables can be viewed up to 20 meters from the camera and the shutter fired with a built in shutter release button. This is designed for the following camera models: Canon 1DsMKII, 5D, 1Ds, 1Ds MKIII; Nikon D3, D700.

While this product certainly isn't great, I think the one other reviewer (so far) has overreacted. It isn't especially well built and in certain lighting conditions it can be difficult to see, plus the refresh rate is pretty slow. However, the product does work and I've used it with success in many situations. It's especially good for street photography where you don't want your subjects to react to the camera. If you are just looking down at your camera people have a much different reaction compared to if you are blatantly aiming right at them, so you get far more natural photographs, and less hostile subjects. Also the Zigview can be used as an enhanced angle finder when taking macro shots. It allows you to position the camera in tricky locations/orientations but still have a clear view of what you are photographing.

This is over priced JUNK!!. It is tiny and fragile and IT WILL NOT WORK OUTDOORS because the screen is washed out. I called to learn how to adjust it and I was told that it would not work outside and to send it back.

I should have been told that it is for indoor use only before I wased my time on it.

I was also only credited for the base price and not the shipping and tax

This product is TOTALLY USELESS!!!!!!!!

I do think this is a very functional product. I do wish the scan rate was a little faster, it tends to be a little grainy.
But I love that I can take pictures at angles that without this I would not even know if I was pointing the camera in the correct location.
I have used this at night for street photos and it works great at close distance. If it were back lit it would even be better.
I love also that it give me some freedom to move to my subjects and pose them while looking at the camera output and knowing that my pose is still within frame or not. It give me then the ability to shoot exactly once the pose is in place. If you have ever tried to shoot pictures of babies, this makes it so much simpler!
It is a little over priced. It would do better at the 150.00 range, this is about the real value of this device.
Over all it works, some accessories would be great if they would create them. One would be wireless, modules that could be added to the camera and the video. This would be the ultimate!
The other would be a an actual case to put this into.
