Secure in Heart: Overcoming Insecurity in a Woman's Life
This is a must read for both woman and men. I read this saying oh yea and thats right. I have been a Christian for 27 years and this book brought out things that really brought my thinking together. It is a handbook to the bible for daily living. If you are going through trials you can't figure out, this book is for you. If you think you know it all and have all the answers, this book is for you. Read it and you'll know what I mean.

It seems most people are full of insecurities they wish they didn't have or feel the need to hide. Furthermore, many of the insecurities women have stem from something that happened in their past or from trying to live up to an unreal or idealistic expectation others place upon them today.

Robin has provided a resource that unmasks where these insecurities come from and shares candidly how to overcome them by rooting oneself in the knowledge, truth and love of God. Whether you come from a religious/Christian background or not, the stories shared in Secure in Heart are universal. They transcend cultural/marital/career/financial/religious boundaries and touch upon extremely vulnerable areas of many women's lives. Through Robin's book, you read testimonials from women who share past experiences with abuse, low self-esteem, perfectionism, self-reliance, marital unfaithfulness, promiscuity, drugs, or a seemingly "normal" upbringing and how these experiences have often led them to life-altering insecurities. You also learn how to uncover areas of insecurity in your own heart and grow to understand how to overcome them with the help of God and His Word. There is tremendous honesty and hope throughout the pages of Secure in Heart.

I appreciate Robin's book, because she digs deep into the hearts and minds of women and refuses to give shallow answers for the things that lead us to be insecure. She offers compassion for the needs and desires many women have, but also provides wise insight into how to live securely when those needs and desires aren't fully met the way we want or think they should be. Robin has seen her share of trials and has bravely walked along her own journey toward security. She doesn't promise to have everything mastered, but she's discovered the tools and promises of God that can help her achieve victories along the way.

A perfect resource for small group Bible studies, women's discussion groups or personal study.

Robin Weidner has broken down doors with this raw and honest, yet gentle and inspiring book. As a Women's Ministry leader, I have used it to bring groups of women together and spark lively discussion about the insecurities we all have. Some are different than others, we are all from different backgrounds & experiences, yet it touches us and brings out deep motivations for the things we do and who we are...even those of us with loving and secure upbringings. There is no hiding while going through this book. It has been an amazingly useful tool to help us all achieve new depth in our self-awareness and, subsequently, in our walk with our Father and love for His Son.

Format: Paperback
Written by Robin Weidner, an international speaker for Christian women's groups, Secure in Heart: Overcoming Insecurity in a Woman's Life is a guide to attaining security in one's heart through knowing who God is, who Jesus is, and who oneself is. Drawing upon the author's life as personal testimonial, Secure in Heart discusses how to spot Satan's false securities, and the flaws of being so self-reliant or self-protective as to shut out one's need for God, a condition as spiritually harmful as being so dependent or helpless as to be unable to turn toward or trust God. Stressing the importance of trusting in God as rescuer and allowing God to be one's guide, Secure in Heart is a deeply spiritual Christian resource, written out of the author's devotion and genuine desire to spread the security and peace that come from embracing God.

Wow!
This book was so great! A real answer to prayer. After being a Christian for 16 years, I was frustrated with the fact that I still felt so insecure. Robin's book was a breathe of fresh air and pulled me out of my pit. I'd like to purchase a copy for every woman I know. I'm very excited about starting a book club using her book. Every woman can benefit from this one.

As a leader of a women's ministry, I use this book for a bible discussion group. Robin offers very practical advice and provides great thought-provoking questions. Many women were able to identify insecurities they previously weren't aware of. Secure in Heart is very biblically based with many scriptures and stories of godly women making inspiring changes.

I was looking for a book to help me with my secret insecurities. There were many, many books here on Amazon but I know God led me to this one. I read this book and found myself opening my heart to God in areas that I always felt I could handle on my own. The weight of doing things on my own became too great. I knew it was God's way of saying it was not my weight anyway and that He loves me and wants to help me.

I love the study questions at the end of each chapter. So thought provoking-making me confront the truth not only with God but with myself.

I am now teaching a women's class at my church on this book, and all the women feel the same. But going over it a second time together with the group is really helping the key points I explored during the first read, take root. How empowering it is to know that I am not the only one with insecurities? To now know that insecurities began with Eve. Eve exchanged her real security in God for the devil's false securities.

This book has addressed the hidden questions of my heart such as Am I enough, Who can I count on, and will I be successful. I have begun the healing process by acknowledging as often as I remember, that God is my Rock, my Guide, and His Goodness makes me enough.

Yes, I am enough because God has made me enough.
