5.0 out of 5 stars A fine blend of spirituality and philosophical reflection, April 14, 2009
This review is from: The Seder Night: An Exalted Evening: The Passover Haggadah: With a Commentary Based on the Teachings of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik (Hardcover)
The Passover Haggadah is revealed with a commentary based on the teachings of Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, edited by Rabbi Menachem Genack and includes excerpts from his public lectures as well as published works and unpublished tapes. Jewish collections strong in scholarly studies will find it a fine blend of spirituality and philosophical reflection, perfect for advanced Jewish studies.

The reflections of the Rav, which enrich this Hagaddah, are likely to aid all those who are looking for ways to revitalize how they conduct and experience the Seder nights of Passover

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Haggadah for years, April 23, 2009
This review is from: The Seder Night: An Exalted Evening: The Passover Haggadah: With a Commentary Based on the Teachings of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik (Hardcover)
For the first time I wanted 7 days of Seder not just two! There was so much to talk about from this Haggadah, culled from various sources of the Rav, including audio shiurim and transcribed notes of his student who compiled the book. Because of this, there is an inconsistency of style but it doesn't grate as one understands that the sources are varying. But it did mean that sometimes I looked only at those that I knew the Rav wrote himself...
