Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-K–Kropf follows a preschool class through the preparation of a traditional meal to a reenactment of the story of Passover to the songs that conclude the classroom festivities. Each page in the small-format book includes a full-color photo and line or two of large-print text. One page shows two girls cutting apples and nuts for the charoset using plastic knives. A note for adults discusses the holiday and the symbolism of traditional foods. There are also instructions for making a Torah mask. There are lots of books on this holiday for young children including Claire Lister's My First Passover Board Book (DK, 2002), Emily Sper's The Passover Seder (Scholastic, 2003), Johnny Zucker's Four Special Questions (Barron's, 2003), and Tanya Lee Stone's P Is for Passover (Penguin, 2003). Purchase Kropf's title if additional material is needed.–Sandra Kitain, Abrams Hebrew Academy, Yardley, PA
