I have Fibromyalgia. I've had it for 13 years. I've tried everything, and nothing ever seems to help much. Everytime I think I have it somewhat under control, I start my exercise workout program back up, and then I'm knocked off my feet for months with muscle pain head-to-toe. I start slow, but it doesn't matter. My muscles react. Covalen is the first product that has truly helped me. I can work out with weights now, albeit nowhere close to where I was 13 years ago, but I can work out! One thing I noticed while taking Corvalen is that it helps me sleep better at night. I feel like I'm sleeping soundly. A big part of Fibromyalgia is the sleep disturbances. It's a snowball effect...you're in pain, you don't sleep well, and without proper sleep, you're in more pain and have more neurological spasms. I think I read somewhere that D-Ribose is a precusor to melatonin. Well, whatever, it's worth the money to get a good night's sleep, and with such a natural product! (No raising of blood sugar either!) I use Corvalen, not Corvalen M w/magnesium. I take Magnesium with a different vitamin supplement. Also, I started using Corvalen (5 mg) 3 days a week for the first week, then 2 times a day for a month, and then I went down to once a day. When I don't take it for a few days, I start waking up at night or never really fall into a deep, sound sleep. I prove over and over to myself that Corvalen really works for my fatigue and pain.

I have to say I was skeptical at first about Corvalen (and believe me it is much better than the other D-ribose products) because I didn't know if it would live up to what I expected it to do for me. I have CFS and have had it for years, and although I still have flare ups a change in diet, a gentle exercise plan, other supplements and the use of corvalen have helped tremendously. To feel the effects, and the true benefit of this product as recommended by Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum I use 5 grams three times a day and it will usually take about 28 days to feel the true effects. I hope it works for you.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and suffer from an achy, tired body. Since I've begun using this D-Ribose I haven't experienced my usual degree of discomfort. I can honestly say that this is the first product that I've tried that actually made a difference, and I've tried many over the years! I will never stop with this D-Ribose.

I have ordered this 2 times now. I wanted to give it a good try before making any coments. I suffer with fibomyliga, which causes great pain in muscles and joints. after using this the pain is reduced by 90 percent. I have tried everything under the sun and this seems to be working the best.

I had been suffering from extreme fatigue and was almost completely bedridden. I tried the Corvalen with a great deal of skepticism. I am so glad that I tried it. I felt a great improvement within a couple of days. I took it twice a day for a month and reordered twice afterward. I can't say how helpful it was.

I first heard about D-Ribose on Dr. Oz and thought it would be worth a try. I have insomnia and low energy due to lack of deep restorative sleep. I first ordered the Corvalen brand and it seemed to help my sleep and improved my energy level, I was getting more done in a day and feeling more rested at night, waking up less often. Because of the cost of Corvalen, I then tried another brand of D-Ribose. On the other brand, which I tried for a month, my old problems returned. I was running low on the other brand, so I thought why not try Corvalen again and compare. What a difference! The very first night I slept better and the next day felt more energetic. I have no idea why the difference, but now I am sold on Corvalen and it is worth the extra money because it works! My husband is also using it and having good results.

I wrote this in response to a 1 star review as a comment and decided to share it with everyone. I tried this product for the first time about a month ago (August 6th 2010 order date.) I would not have labeled myself as having CFS but after trying the product and the amazing difference in how I feel, I start to wonder. I am a large male 6'4" and thought I might take a larger dose (which I did initially) but then started taking the recommended dosage and find it seems right. There is a scoop included and I believe it is a 5 gram scoop (I have not confirmed this.) Even with taking a larger dose a couple of times it ended up with almost a month worth of the product so I feel confident about the 280 grams and 5 gram scoop. Wait... I just grabbed the container and verified that it says 280g, 9.9oz, 56 servings. I don't think I have ever written a review or responded to one but I have found this product amazingly transformational. Instead of waking with aches and pains I just wake and I have good sustained energy all day. Even things I had resigned myself to (like a constant back ache) have improved a great deal. I am now on a routine of one scoop in the morning and one mid afternoon. I will probably buy a larger order from a different vendor the next time since I am sold on the product (RIBOSE) and there are some less expensive suppliers if you buy in bulk. I have no idea is there is a qualitative difference between the Ribose from different suppliers. I hope this helps you know I don't care who you buy it from but I do hope it works for you! I think the photo you saw with the 14 servings was a user submitted photo just trying to supply nutrition information and they used a different size container. I just uploaded a photo of the actual label that shows 56 servings. I feel better than a dose of prescription strength Advil (Ibuprofen.)

UPDATE: As of June 19, 2010- Thanks to a comment from Katie Rose O'Day, I see that the description for this item's weight has been corrected. For the record, I have left my originally posted review from February 17, 2010 intact below. As a result of having now tried and compared Corvalen ribose to several other brands of ribose, I find them all to be relatively the same. Thus, I revised my rating from 2 to 3 stars for the product itself. As for alternate brands, several cost less per unit weight so there are still better values out there.

First off, I will tell you that this IS NOT A 2 STAR REVIEW FOR RIBOSE! Ribose has been an excellent supplement for my body's recovery after exercise and and for eliminating pain. This particular brand may be also be excellent, but I did not use it. I ordered the item on this page and was dismayed that I received only 9.9 ounces for my $43.50. Usually, Amazon offers items that are lower cost or unavailable from my local stores, but I can get better deals on Ribose price wise from all of my local health food stores.

I am returning this item unopened to Amazon with the following notation:

"Ad was misleading. I thought I would get 1-lb, but item weighs only 9.9ozs. Better deals at ProHealth(12ozs for$39.99), NOW(8ozs for $19.99)& NutraBulk($73.99 for 2.2lbs).

Ribose is an excellent supplement, but I recommend that other shoppers seek out alternative suppliers unless you have tested other brands and found that Corvalen works better for your body. Even then, you will get more of this product for less money from other suppliers.

I received my Corvalen today @ 4pm, & had taken a serving by 5pm after the end of a TIRING day teaching high school students. I am usually napping by 6pm for a couple of hours from fatigue and exhaustion, but I felt surprisingly WELL and am still awake and full of energy at 10:30pm.
I am a CVID patient (primary immune deficiency disease) who takes IgG infusions nightly, as well as NUMEROUS prescription, OTC and too many supplements to count! I heard of D-ribose and it's positive effect on Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from Dr. Mehmet Oz one afternoon on his show. I immediately tried to find a product online, as well as at local retailers. Of course I found it on Amazon at a more reasonable price than local retailers!
As a Biologist and Educator, I understand how IV's work that contain Glucose-6-Phosphate to boost energy after illness/dehydration. This compound is similar in my mind, as it is ESSENTIAL in the Glycolytic Pathway.
I truly hope that this is not psychosomatic, as I am so optimistic that THIS will work permanently. I do promise to update here often and if it doesn't work...YOU WILL KNOW!

Corvalen D-Ribose is superior to other d-Ribose products because of superior results. CFS is a misery & I tried anything I thought would help. Corvalen is the most highly recommended & rightfully so. I have more energy, sleep better(even with my chronic insomnia)better disposition, probably because of better sleep,etc. To the person who complained,remember,if it works better, it's worth anything you can afford. The name Corvalen is in common usage & is automatically connected to D-Ribose. To good health!!
