I purchased this item for my two of my peterbald cats who are suffering with cold symptoms~~after trying several antibiotics to no avail, my vet says it's an upper respiratory virus that the cats own immune systems will have to beat. I was searching for something that would help boost their immune systems when I came across a description of how colostrum does exactly that. When the product arrived, I tried it out right away. The colostrum powder produces a nice consistency and smells fine to me, and I have high hopes for it's effect on boosting the cats' immunity~~we're still working on getting them over their colds, but I have seen some improvement. I think it works best if mixed in with something that helps to mask the faint odor of the product~~my cats will not lap it up in it's liquid form as they do not care for it's taste or smell, but they do eat it fine if mixed in with a tasty wet cat food. Another way to administer it would be to mix it into liquid form and syringe it into your pet, but my peterbalds have long memories and hold grudges, so it's easiest on me to let them eat it in their cat food! From my research online, the New Zealand variety is best since it does not come from cows who have been given antibiotics or hormones, but are grass-fed only.

I gave this to my son who has severe gastrointestinal issues (i.e., gas pain, constipation, night waking), but really found no difference/improvement after giving a dose daily for 2 weeks. I had much better luck using probiotics to help his gut.
