Product Description:

In this battle of wills, passion becomes front-page news.

He challenged her legacy.
She challenged him to love.

In 1850s South Carolina, ladies with ambition and a penchant for wearing trousers are rare indeed. But that’s Charlotte Whitney all over. Not only does Charlie yearn to resurrect her late father’s newspaper, she wants to be its editor. That position, however, has been handed to Richmond newspaperman Adam Chase. Undeterred, Charlie convinces Adam to teach her the journalism trade. In doing so, she teaches him how to open his heart.

Adam Chase had one goal in mind: to return Edgemont’s newspaper to its former glory and then make tracks back to the big city. But he faces one very tempting obstacle in outspoken Charlie Whitney. The newsroom becomes the battleground for a war between the sexes—until Adam surrenders to Charlie’s sultry charms. Together, they discover that the power of the press doesn’t hold a candle to the power of love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended Read for Historical Romance Fans February 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
**My actual rating is 4.5 stars.**

Charlie Whitney grew up working alongside her father at his newspaper. She's very intelligent, well read and has a mind of her own. She doesn't really care what a proper lady should be doing. She's happy the way she is. When her father dies, the newspaper is turned over to Adam Chase, who only wants to get the newspaper back to the greatness it once was but he never expected he'd have to deal with someone like Charlie.

Adam and Charlie clash from the start, of course, because Charlie's angry that Adam is there in the position of editor, which she very much wanted and is very capable of handling. It was fun seeing them butt heads with one another, frustrating them both.

Charlie feels that she doesn't need a man in her life, that she's quite capable of taking care of herself, and the newspaper, and Adam has a difficult past that makes him afraid to fall in love. So despite the obvious attraction they feel for each other, they fight it practically ever step of the way! But both of them have meddlesome friends in the form of Miles and Kath Lambert. There were some small segments in the story that went back to Miles and Kath that didn't seem particularly necessary to the story but were certainly entertaining.

I very much enjoyed To Seduce a Rogue! I thought it was very well written with very few, very minor errors. The story moves along nicely and it contains just enough description to feel like you are right there with these characters. The one thing that I would have liked a little more detail about is Eaton, Adam's brother. You're told very little about what happened to him and I would have liked a little more since what happened is one of the things that defines who Adam is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fiery and Passionate! February 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A period piece, To Seduce A Rogue is a fresh, fun romp in the never-ending battle of the sexes. Charlotte... or Charlie as she prefers to be called, wears pants. This may not seem terribly odd or out of place now, but in 1850 it certainly was.

But that was Charlie in a nutshell. She was different, she knew how to take her brains and her talents and make the most of them. When you mix that with Adam Chase's undeterred goal of pushing Edgmont's daily paper into a great paper so he could get his career back on track you have two powerful people working together.

And then when you spark the flame of passion... this turns into one exciting and powerful read! High recommended!

Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Title: To Seduce a Rogue
Author: Tracy Sumner
Genre: Romance
Published: January 2012
Publisher: E books

Sizzzling love scenes ...Believable characters with passion. Adam Chase and all of painful memories that keep him from ever "loving " anyone ever.. Again.. and Charlie Whitney who is "too bold" for her own good.. meet.. And what happens when they have an irrestible pull! I also loved that this book had a story to tell within the story about the newspaper and publishing business.

My rating is ZZZZ

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book! February 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Loved this book! I was expecting it to be good as I'm familiar with this author and l really enjoyed her previous novels. I couldn't and wouldn't put it down. The sort of book you want to snuggle up on the sofa with a box of choccies and indulge. Very romantic, sensual and heart warming with great characters, think I'm in love a little myself with Adam and loved Charlottes character too. Fabulous read.

I have been following this series with my wife, as a way for us to spend some time together. It's actually a series she has been considering for her book club. We really love the writing style of this author because the scenes are pretty descriptive. You really feel like you are a part of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love and a look at history February 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
In the decade leading up to the War Between the States (the 1850s), South Carolinian pols were discussing secession and its ramifications. Those who opposed the idea sometimes found themselves on the wrong end of the club, the knife, and even the gun. This is the backdrop of an excellent love story written by Tracy Sumner.

Adam is a principled man, Charlie a principled woman. Both hold that freedom of speech is sacred. Each has had a troubled childhood. Both find it hard to trust ... to give one's heart freely ... to allow oneself to become vulnerable to hurt. And therein lies the plot (with the threat of violence to their persons, family members, and friends in the background, but not overpoweringly so).

Ms. Sumner writes lucidly and well. Her sense of time and place is spot on. The plot develops gently and beautifully. Her delineation of characters is critical (of course) and done so very well. I found myself unwilling to stop to even prepare a meal. Yes, I loved it. Now I look forward to reading more by this talented author.
