An unauthorized novel, based on a true story.
"I was bored, lonely, new to New York, my body and myself. I'd moved out from my sorority row apartment in Oakland a month ago, trying to make a go of it on the coast that was the inferior one in my family. I went to a bad state school, got mediocre grades, looked totally average, did nothing special. I was never most popular or most beautiful or most desirable or best at anything; I was the last one picked for the softball team and the first one out the door after my last biology class. I doubt anybody noticed, even though that was two short months ago; boys didn't dream about me and girls didn't envy me. I'd had boyfriends before, anonymous guys with anonymous names and dim futures, but none of my friends ever tried to date them, not because they liked me but because they weren't attractive - not even to me, and I have low standards.
And then Anthony Weiner came into my life."
