I really loved this book I could not put it down. The action starts on the first few pages and just keeps going. There is no real slow spots. My only sad part is the ending is a cliff hanger and "Hello" where is the sequel? I am waiting. Have mercy on me already!

Police officer Chessa Tomas is a vampire. Her patrol consists of policing the chaotic underworld of New Orleans and never seen aspects of the world that humans or `ordinary' people never see. She knows that without rules evil would take over and that is not acceptable to her. Her attention to duty and her job doesn't allow for romantic involvements - especially not interludes with a sensual Revenant named Nicolas Montfaucon.

Nicolas Montfaucon is being haunted by dreams of passion and desire. For 800 years Nicolas has lived and breathed his mission of not allowing an immortal beast to rise again. However, when a horrific storm batters New Orleans, Nicolas is unable to prevent "the Devourer' from awakening. The only person who can help him? The beautiful female vampire of whom he dreams of nightly.

Nobody writes dark and erotic vampire romances like Delilah Devlin. In Seduced in Darkness she has woven a timeless tale of good versus evil. Each character's desire for good, while being something generally thought of as innately evil, was written with intensity and believable characterization. I found myself immersed in the sights, sounds, and pandemonium that is the city of New Orleans and loved it.

Seduced in Darkness is my kind of vampire romance. It was steamy, erotic and suspenseful. I thoroughly enjoyed every word I read.

If you are looking for a great plot or really emotional characters, this is not the book for you. The plot & characters in this book carry forward from Into The Darkness. The plot in this book is just there to tie the hot scenes together. But I still LOVED this book. This was the first "erotic" book I ever read that fit the role for me. I have since read better plot & character writing, but still think the scenes in this one were scorching- so much so that I couldn't have cared less about the plot :) I have kept it for that reason alone.

I guess the title of my review says it all. If you're looking for an erotic vamp book well look no further. I enjoyed this book a lot more than book 1. I like the chemistry a lot more between Chessa and Nic. Then throw Alex in the mix and all I can say is WOW! This book definately made for an interesting read. I can't wait to find out what happens next! Anyone know when the next book will come out?

With reading the first book in this series, Into the Darkness (Dark Realm, Book 1) I was left with little story line and ALOT of erotica! If you decide to skip the first book, there is a couple of connections you will not have going into the second book and the author does little recap (which I actually like).

Since I had the second book already at hand I decided to go ahead and read it. I'm glad I did
I really enjoyed this second book, finally got a story line and even some history which flips back and forth throughout the book. The author really picks it up in this one. The story starts to come together and the erotica didn't devour the book!

The author, Delilah Devlin, leaves the story way open for the next installment of the third book "Darkness Burning" due out June 23rd.

Now that things are picking up, may be a promising series. Looking forward to "Darkness Burning" (Dark Realm, Book 3), in June!

In present day Bayou St. John, Nicholas Mountfaucom worries about the damage the flood is doing to the Morel mausoleum because inside is locked away a monster that he fears might escape. Nicholas decides to go underwater to inspect the damage when mage Simon arrives to assist him.

Converted vampire Nicholas visits Born vampire Chessy Tomas who he has sex with but pretends he is not concerned about her needs. He hides how much he cares for her because Chessy only thinks of her former police partner Rene who vanished with Natalie the vampire INTO THE DARKNESS. Nicholas warns Chessy about the monster's escape before he dominates her with more sex. Soon after Chessy meets her new partner Alex but she hopes to get rid of him as she only wants Rene as her partner. They seek nests of rogue vampires crossing the blood line by killing their host. After killing a few rogues, Chessy seeks sex from a willing partner and finds "Breadman". Alex joins them but he insists on no biting.

Meanwhile in the river lies the bodies of cops whose hearts have been torn out. The "Devourer" has escaped from his prison crypt. Nicholas is angry when he sees Alex touching Chessy and smells his sex all over her. Alex and Nicholas make it clear that they both want Chessy even as they know the recapture of the Devourer comes first.

The Devlin mythos filled with demons and Born and Created vampires seem genuine while the investigation and erotic subplots are well written but be aware there are explicit bondage scenes. Although the heroine has sex at moments when she is in trouble slowing down the non sexual subplots and the anticipated climax is a bit of a let down, readers will enjoy this heated erotic romantic police procedural fantasy.
