About the Author

Gina is a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up she dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with her acting abilities, until she came to the realization as a college sophomore that she had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before she discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like her.

A member of the Romantic Writers Association (RWA), San Antonio Romance Authors (SARA), and Rose City Romance Authors (RCRA), she recently signed with Entangled Publishing to write for two of their imprints.

Her Fighting for Love series with MMA heroes debuted July 20, 2012 for the Brazen imprint with the first book in the series, Seducing Cinderella. The first book in her Prophecy of Souls trilogy, Desires of the Soul, is set to release in mass trade paperback in Summer 2013 for the Entangled Select imprint.

When she's not writing or wrangling plot bunnies, Gina keeps busy with her wonderful family and their ever-growing extracurricular activities. Gina L. Maxwell's debut novel, Seducing Cinderella, is sweet, sexy, funny, and straight up fantastic. This book does everything right; character development, pacing, dialogue, conflict resolution. From the start of the first chapter, I was immersed in the book and already attached to Lucie and Reid, our H/H. Lucie is a believable 29 year old woman, a mixture of professional competence and some personal heartache and insecurities. And Reid, while an alpha MMA champion, is also a caring man who doesn't want his broken childhood to define him. Reid and Lucie's older brother were best friends growing up so they already have a history and Reid sincerely likes Lucie for who she is. Lucie is a physical therapist who agrees to help Reid rehab from an injury he incurred while training for his next match. In return, Reid will help Lucie finally catch the eye of the perfect doctor she has had a crush on for years by teaching her how to seduce a man. Instead, he finds himself seducing his Cinderella.

What I found incredibly refreshing was that although Reid initially questioned the wisdom of getting involved sexually with his friend's younger sister, he quickly treated Lucie as the mature adult she was and let her decide if she wanted to make love with him. No scenes of brother rushing in suggesting that because she had sex, his sister was somehow sullied. Kudos to the author for writing a romance with characters that reflect the current state of relationships in the year 2012!

And speaking of sex, this book was deliciously steamy. Very hot, very sexy, very intimate. Lucie and Reid set each other on fire. Even a thunderstorm can't put out the flames!

So if you like sexy contemporaries with appealing characters who undergo emotional growth and reading about a relationship that deepens into intimacy and love, you will love this book. As I suggested at the start of my review, it's hard to believe this author hasn't been publishing for years and that this is indeed her debut. I look forward to many more books from her and can wholeheartedly recommend this book.

To say that I was waiting eagerly for SEDUCING CINDERELLA would be a hilarious understatement. I was actually kinda worried...could a book that I've wanted to read for so long, that teased me with the most amazing snippets for months on Facebook, possibly live up to my expectations? Um, hell yes. It can, it did, and it surpassed it.

Lucie is every woman I know. She's sweet and funny. She's beautiful but can't see it in herself. She's endearing. She has an amazing and hilarious best friend. She's pining for the wrong guy...and she's been crushing on Mr. Forbidden for years. Yeah, I related to this chick.

And Reid? Holy Moly, this man does it for me. He is hotter than hell and knows it. But Gina doesn't stop there with her leading man, oh no. She also gives him a hidden sweet side that totally melted my heart. And when you pair the rough, edgy fighter, with the sweet, soulful artist--COMBUSTIBLE people.

So yeah, you must read this. Like now. Seriously, right now. You won't regret it =)

Seducing Cinderella is the first in a series of contemporary romance novels revolving around MMA fighters, and the debut of Gina L. Maxwell, author. And what a debut it is!

This story is about an injured MMA fighter, Reid Andrews, who needs to be rehabilitated so that he can fight and win his championship title back in two months time. He enlists the help of physical therapist, Lucie Miller, who unbeknownst to him at the time is his best friend's little sister. The two make a deal where Lucie will take Reid on as a patient for two months so that he'll be ready for his fight, while Reid will train Lucie in the art of seduction so that she can win the affection of the doctor she has been lusting after. While upholding their respective ends of the bargain, the two are powerfully attracted to one another. They agree to act on their attraction for the duration of the time they will be working together and once that time is up, they each will go their separate ways. Of course, things don't quite go as planned.

Ms. Maxwell does a great job at writing the Cinderella story we all know and love in a refreshing and believable way. Lucie was written realistically as a strong, successful woman with real insecurities that most women will be able to relate to. Reid was not only sinfully sexy and very alpha, but also sensitive and compassionate. I adored him! The chemistry between Lucie and Reid was explosive and the love scenes were smoking hot! I alternately laughed and cried while reading this book and ultimately finished it with a smile on my face.

I am truly looking forward to reading the future books in this series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet, sexy and fun read. You will not be disappointed!
