Seducing the Darkness, February 2, 2012
This review is from: Seducing the Darkness (Paperback)
Vampire Trinity Ford spends her days working on computers and her nights prowling the city for other vampires to kill. It's a lonely existence but she's learned independence and street smarts, a necessity after leaving her mate when she caught him in bed with another woman. They've stayed apart all this time, but suddenly he's in her life again.
Basil Hawthorne is a vampire prince, the only blood creation from the two original vampires. When Basil's father deserted his mother the queen, locking her behind the Realm of Mystics, Basil had banished him to the Dark Realm. Appearing to Basil in a dream, the king vows to seek his revenge on his son, through Trinity, the woman he loves. Pushing her away seemed the only option to keep her safe.
Lately, rumors have indicated an old ritual will be attempted to resurrect the king, which will blot out the sun and leash untold evil on vampires and humans alike. When Trinity starts investigating missing human girls who are connected to the ritual, Basil appears in Trinity's life again, if nothing else to work together to stop the madness ensuing. Love has a way of healing even the fiercest pain and each realizes the strength of their feelings for the other. But before they can begin anew, they must stop the ritual before their future dims.
What a fabulous, action packed, sexually sizzling ride! Trinity is a heroine of heroines. She's smart, witty, tough and independent. She does everything on her own terms. Basil, a prince among vampires, is sexy, charming, and although a gentleman when it comes to Trinity, his love, he oozes Alpha magnetism. The two make a fabulous couple and I found myself holding my breath, yearning for Trinity's capitulation into Basil's loving arms.
With abundant action and dark intensity, this book could easily be found on Urban Fantasy shelves, but there's enough romance within to give it a paranormal romance label.
Seducing the Darkness is the first book I've read by Shiela Stewart. Not only was I thoroughly hooked from the very first page, but I eagerly await her next release Desiring the Darkness due out next month.
