Granted it was free.... but I'm sure it won't always be that way. I wish Amazon would start listing how long these "books" are. I'm sick of thinking I'm getting a BOOK, when really I'm getting either PART of a book, or a short story. No warning that it's a short story, and the other 2 parts are listed as Book 2 and Book 3. Not part 2 and part 3. By Amazon not posting the length of it's kindle books, it is allowing authors and publishers mislead it's potential buyers. I don't want to buy 3 books. One suffices. And if it's a free "teaser" they should be required to say so. Because now, I may be willing to pay for Book 2 if I was sure I was getting a book, and not the next 40 pages of SHORT novel.

Honestly I read this book because I got it free on Kindle - through my iphone. This book introduces you to Jane, a submissive, who becomes celibate after she finds out her Master is a married man. She attends a BDSM themed birthday party, with her best friend. The book, couple of short chapters, covers only one night in the weekend. You have to purchased the next to books, Educating Jane Porter: A Jane Porter story and Reinventing Jane Porter: Jane Porter Series, Book 3 ,to get the rest of the weekend.

Thank goodness it was free, otherwise I'd feel cheated.

This has the posibility to be a solid 5 star book. Very well written, good background set up, etc. Instead it's just the opening chapters. Literally ended mid conversation. Bummer.

I'm giving the story 5 STARS because I'd hate to see the author's great work get knocked down because it wasn't listed as an excerpt. I, too, was one of the disappointed readers who believed that I had downloaded a full book and only to find the story abruptly end with the teaser "Are you on the edge of your seat?...stay tuned...." I'd rather know what I'm getting upfront rather than feel I'm getting suckered into something.

Nonetheless, the writer did a wonderful job of hooking me right from the beginning. As I read the story, I found that I couldn't put my kindle down. I'm NOT a big fan of romance but I've got to hand it to Ms. Adair; she may have changed my opinion about the genre.

I tend to prefer stories that are rough and have a raw edge to them, especially when it comes to eroticism and I don't find that in run of the mill romance books. This author though, is masterful at spinning her erotic tale around you, so much so, that you will find yourself smitten and craving more. I will probably buy her books because she is a great writer but will be more wary when downloading the free stuff from now on.

This whole idea of chunking a book grates on me. I will NEVER knowingly spend one cent on this type of literature. Basically, they take one book and chop it into 3 or 4 shorter stories with barely there plots.
The fact is the cheap books sell better. So by taking a book and breaking it into parts and selling the parts at a couple of bucks each, you get more money and more sales...

In my opinion the story suffers and the flow of the experience is corrupted.

Seducing Jane Porter passes as a Reader's Digest story. Thin plot. Undeveloped characters. Just seduction, passion, heat that you really can't get into because you don't know the characters well enough to really care at all.

Maybe I did get it for free so I should lower my expectations and be grateful, but frankly I gave my book time to this. And frankly, I felt cheated. I want my time back. For $3 or $4 you can read Annabel Joseph's FULL LENGTH BDSM stories. There are so many amazing BDSM authors and so little time. Don't waste it on this.

When you think about it, this is the first part of 3 parts to an acutal novel. If it was packaged as a novel, this would be the free sample portion we can access anyway.

This isn't like getting a third of a cookie, still yummy and good, leaving you wanting more. It's more like getting a third of a ship. It sunk.

Beware...this is only "Book 1" of a three part story. You will pay about 5 bucks to get the whole story and it will NOT be worth the money. Even though they are called "Book 1, Book 2 and Book 3" they amount to little more than a short story. The story itself has some potential but it never realizes it. Most of it is poorly written and unimaginative and when all is said and done very little actually happens. Don't get sucked in by the first installment, which is arguably the best of the three and leads you to expect much more than you actually receive once you pay your money.

The writing style is something I could get into, I can identify with the lifestyle. I had been looking forward to reading this "book" for a few months, waiting until we were at our cabin on vacation. I gave the book 2 stars for the deception! This NEEDS to be repackaged with all 3 parts as one book and sold as such for a similar price as the authors other books (about $7) with the option to download a "sample" which is what this first free part is. Because I was in a remote location for 10 days I did not have Whispernet or computer access to purchase the other 2 parts. I could have found a way to do it, but honestly I was too irritated with the author for this silly behavior. What is the point (other than to mislead your readers & leave them upset with you?) I made due with many of the other books I paid $8-$14.99 for. The content IS GOOD, so I'm still considering the buy.

Jane Porter ends her celibacy by attending a bondage-themed event. But does not engage in bondage.

You would think one character would be a Sub and the other a Dom, if they are they did not show it in this short story. Maybe in the next installment.

I downloaded "Seducing Jane Porter" for free for my Kindle. This story is all about Master/Submissive and it is hot. The only thing I wish I had known: it's part 1 of a 3 part mini-series. I wish I had known that the story wasn't complete.

I got this to spend a day reading at the beach. Although the story was entertaining it took only 1 hr to read as it wasn't a complete story. It ended mid sentence. What a waste of the potential of this story. I will not be buying the other parts based on other reviews stating that they are a waste on money.
