2.0 out of 5 stars This book totally irritated me!
And I loved Kill and Tell. There are nine glowing reviews and I thought, I must have missed something. So, I opened the book in 3 different sections and have felt the same thing...did Cherry Adair write this? Cat and Luke, they did not ring true; the misunderstandings seemed very contrived. Sorry, I can't wait to get rid of this book. I was very disappointed.

Oh, this was *such* a fun story!

Cherry Adair takes a faintly taboo subject - man/woman love towards your step-siblings - and makes a wonderful and sexy romp!

Cat Harris, daughter of a serial relationship mama, wants a family. A real family. One she gets in spades when her mama marries into the Van Buren family. Her mama doesn't stay married, but Cat remains close to her step dad and step brother. Luke isn't really nice to her and Cat spends years hoping for Luke to turn into a real big brother.

Unfortunately, by the time Luke turns into her dream big brother, she discovers she's helplessly in love with him.

After the death of Luke's father, whom she's been taking care of, Cat decides to join Luke in the "big city" and try to land her a husband - and she decides Luke is going to help her. She figures that Luke will realize she's there...and available...and he'll fall in love with her.

What follows is an absolute delight. And if you can keep from laughing during the opening scene of the book, you have more control than I do!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun & Sexy, June 17, 2001
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
Catherine Harris has been in love with Luke Van Buren since she was a teenager. Determined to snag the elusive bachelor once and for all, she concocts a plan aimed at getting the committment-phobic Luke to see her as a sexy, available woman. She tells Luke that she wants to get married, and as her friend, she'd like him to help her find Mr. Right.

Luke, meanwhile, doesn't think any man is worthy of Cat, himself included. Nevertheless, he agrees to help her despite the jealousy that plagues him. It doesn't take long, however, for Luke to realize that the only Mr. Right he wants in Cat's life is himself.

Cherry Adair's latest release is a sexy and delightful romp that satisfies from start to finish. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this one.

(sexual content = PG-13)

5.0 out of 5 stars Small book----Big Delight!!!, July 16, 2001

This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
This is a small book and my first by Cherry Adair; about Step-siblings. Cat Harris loves Luke, no blood-kin, and wants him to love and notice her as his sister. As Luke turns into the perfect brother for Cat, she discovers she is in love with him. He discovers he is attracted to her and trys to ignore the way he feels so he can be a "perfect" brother. The story is delightful and at times I literally laughed out loud. I fell-in-love with Cat and Luke as they SEAL their fate. And I fell in love with Cherry Adair's sensual, sexy, and warm writing style.

4.0 out of 5 stars One Long Seduction Scene, November 28, 2001
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
Great light reading. Ms. Adair took a subject with faintly taboo overtones (romance between step-siblings) and gave it a nice spin. For those of you uncomfortable by the subject, know that the characters are in no way blood kin, and nothing nasty happened while they were children. This is one of those "she's loved him forever, he finally notices her as something other than a kid sister" kind of books. The twist being that, after an incident earlier in their lives, he made a vow to his father always to be a good big brother to her and to watch over and protect her, a vow he's now having a hard time keeping.

What I liked about this book is that it told the story from both character's viewpoints. She is trying to make him aware of her as a woman, but unknown to her, he's been aware of that fact for a long time and has been trying to resist it. She's a nester, he's a player, she wants marriage, he wants to be free. Both have issues resulting from their parents' multiple marriages.

The plot device to bring them together, while a familiar one, worked in this book, because the sexual tension was maintained without becoming silly. I've usually stayed away from the Harlequin Temptation books just because of the covers which always seem to show photos of people half-undressed in bed, but I was pleased with this one and may try more in the series since the phrase "you can't judge a book by it's cover" seems to apply with them. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensual tension reaches new highs! Very highly recommended, May 26, 2001
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
Since she was six years old and they became step-siblings, Catherine Harris has dreamed that Luke VanBuren would treat her like family. Nineteen years have passed and she only wants him more -- not as a brother but as her husband. Now Cat arrives in San Francisco and she has a plan. Cat tells Luke that she wants him to find her find Mr. Right.

Luke swore to his dying father that he would take care of Cat. He'd promised Cat, as well, to always be an available and supportive big brother. Now his feelings are not at all brotherly, but he gave his word. Besides, he's a freewheeling playboy and she seeks security. He's a daredevil who enjoys variety and she's a virgin. He wants affairs and she wants marriage. With nothing in common and Cat living with him, Luke's now expected to find Mr. Right for her while his own hormones rage. But he can't give in to his dark desires because Cat's too good to toy with; she's a keeper.

The beauty of San Francisco comes alive as the backdrop to Cherry Adair's SEDUCING MR. RIGHT. Ocean breezes, however, can't cool the frenzied passion shared by Cat and Luke. Indeed, having had my own sexy, older step-brother, I find the premise absolutely wonderful and terrifically original! Fighting one's own desires has never been as much fun, and loosing is even better! With an adventuresome plot, appealing and real characters, and scorching scenes, SEDUCING MR. RIGHT comes very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has a Terrific Leading Man, February 28, 2010
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)

Seducing Mr. Right is the story of Catherine and Luke. Catherine has been in love with Luke since she was a teenager and has always wanted things to happen with him. Things got a little complicated when her mother married his father they become step-siblings and then Luke promised his dying father that he'd take care of Catherine and make sure nothing happened to her. How could Catherine get Luke to notice that she's no longer a child?

She devises a ploy to get Luke to notice her by seeking his assistance in the art of seduction and in finding "Mr. Right." Luke is surprised by the request, but realizes he wouldn't want anyone else helping her out in this way, so he agrees.

Catherine knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. You'll have to read to see how Luke responds, but I will say that he was a very sexy leading man!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling Romance!!, March 24, 2003
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
Catherine Harris has loved Luke Van Buren since she was six years old, when her mother married his father, and he became her stepbrother. She's been in love with him since she was sixteen. But Luke knows how hurt Cat was by him when they were kids, and he's resolved to make it up to her, and put his desires on hold. But Cat has other ideas, and sets out to seduce him within an inch of her life. Little does she know that Luke doesn't need to be seduced, that he's been in love with her forever. However, a little persuasion can't hurt!
This book had me laughing out loud at some of Cat's antics. The beginning was hilarious. It's also a VERY sexy read. I'd recommend it to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic, June 17, 2001
This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
Catherine "Cat" Harris decides she has waited long enough for Luke Van Buren to stop treating her like his younger sister instead of his lover. Just because they are step-siblings does not mean they could not find happiness together since they share no blood ties. To shake Luke up, Cat asks him to find her Mr. Right but first teach her the art of seduction.

Luke knows that his feelings for Cat have evolved from older brother to wannabe lover. However, he promised his deceased dad, who loved his stepdaughter Cat, he will take care of her. Romance and seduction does not fit the definition of caring for Cat even if it feels right. He does not want her to find anyone else. He also knows if he starts teaching her how to seduce Mr. Right, he will be the one "biting her butt."

SEDUCING MR. RIGHT is a humorous romantic romp starring two likable lead characters. The story line is fluff, but it is escapist fluff that entertains the reader thoroughly. Cat's antics provide the audience with amusing scenarios that keep Luke on edge in more ways then one. It is their tender relationship that will have readers walking down the aisle of their bookstore to obtain other novels by Cherry Adair and other authors' books in the wedding celebration series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cherry Adair does it again!, June 3, 2001

This review is from: Seducing Mr. Right (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
What else can I say but wow?!

From page one I was hooked with this ultra sexy romance. The heroine Catherine knows what she wants and goes after it with a no bars held attitude. She is a down to earth gal that I found very likeable. And the hero Luke himself was definitely a man any woman would love to have for her own just as Catherine does. He was hard to resist with his sexy charm and his determination to fight his baser instincts in the name of honor. This story is flat out awesome....most assuredly a KEEPER!! If you love a romance story that holds you captive, get your own copy today!

*sigh*
