This review is from: Seduction on the CEO's Terms (Silhouette Desire) (Kindle Edition)
I enjoyed reading this book. This is the typical storyline of assistant falling for his boss. But what I really liked from this book was that the heroine did a reverse Cinderella, instead of becoming one so that her boss would notice her. Joe had to relocate from NY to Napa Valley to help run the family Vineyard with his brothers. Joe was the geek, the genius, the numbers guy. He had to leave his very competent assistant Ali behind and before he left, he kissed her. After a while, he asks her to relocate to Napa with him to continue working with him. Ali went, she was in love with her boss and was dying to be around him hoping he would notice her.
Their relationship has always been professional, except for that one kiss. Ali didn't know what else to do for Joe to notice her when her friend Rena suggested she do a reverse Cinderella. Coincidentally, Joe noticed that Ali was becoming more reserved, quiet, sad, like she needed comforting. He also began to notice how beautiful she was, without any makeup or fancy clothes. Ali was thrilled when Joe was becoming more personal with her, but she felt bad for not being her real self, inside or outside. One day, Joe simply couldn't help but be with Ali, his jealousy was driving him crazy and he had to be with her. What started as a one night stand became a relationship. Only problem was that Joe was burned in the past and did not do relationships. When he finds out she has been lying to him, he walks away and leaves Ali broken hearted. Story was predicatable, yet it was still entertaining and highly enjoyable. |
