5.0 out of 5 stars TLC!
TLC, better known as The Ladies Cartel, is an undercover agency run by women. Danielle Holloway was introduced to the cartel by her good friend Savannah. Savannah is now pregnant and has been given an assignment she can no longer fulfill. Therefore, she has to seek help and who better to get help from than the friends who helped her on her first assignment. Dani is more...

2.0 out of 5 stars Seduction, lies and racial hangups
Second in the TLC cartel series. I was hoping for more romance/intrigue in the story and less on the heroine's racial hangups-therefore 2 stars. Danielle is mixed race (white hispanic mother/black father). (The book cover fits her description). However growing up her Hispanic grandmother disliked her 'too black' father and drummed it into her head her beauty was as a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Seduction, lies and racial hangups, December 14, 2009
This review is from: Seduction and Lies (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Second in the TLC cartel series. I was hoping for more romance/intrigue in the story and less on the heroine's racial hangups-therefore 2 stars. Danielle is mixed race (white hispanic mother/black father). (The book cover fits her description). However growing up her Hispanic grandmother disliked her 'too black' father and drummed it into her head her beauty was as a result of looking like her mother and not like her father. Hence Danielle grows up ashamed of her black father, especially after an incident in university and does not see her parents for ten years as a result. If this was supposed to make her sympathetic, it did not work, IMO it she came across as pathetic.
I could not understand why this 'glad I don't look like a black woman, and only date white/light black man' person had any black friends at all! Well Dani joins the cartel and her case is to infiltrate an identity theft ring, whilst doing so she deals with her issues including the reason for her relationship with Nick (who in book one was white but in book two is now mixed race, hate when writers do that). So is she with Nick for love or cos the kids won't come out black looking, did I really care????

5.0 out of 5 stars TLC!, February 27, 2009
This review is from: Seduction and Lies (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dani is more than eager to take over the assignment, pending her meeting with the head of the cartel. Dani has only one problem with joining the cartel, how to keep it from her live-in boyfriend Nick Mateo. Once given the assignment, Dani realizes that she needs this assignment more than anyone knows.

Seduction and Lies is a wonderful book. The plot is excellently written. There are also several subplots that are very integral parts of the story that make it a phenomenal read. There are twists and turns that take you on an adventure in every chapter. Just when you think you have it figured out, Hill throws you for another loop. The character description also plays a very significant role in this story. Overall, Seduction and Lies is a great read!

4.0 out of 5 stars "You Weren't Suppose To Tell", March 19, 2009
This review is from: Seduction and Lies (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is book #2 of the TLC series and it doesn't disappoint. I like the originality of the storyline and the characters work well with each other, and even better, just when you think he/she is the bad guy you're in for a surprise. Bring on book #3.

Donna Hill continuied in the series with "Seduction and Lies" with Danielle Holloway and the ladies of TLC. In this sequal she is working on her first assignment. While doing this she runs into a number of complications with her man and that of ther friend's mother as well. She shows you how seduction and lies can possible run a realtionship and how important it is to be honest. Donna tells a very well told and exciting story. Be on the lookout for the next one to follow!!!

Great Job Donna!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Slow, November 17, 2008
This review is from: Seduction and Lies (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was really disappointed with this one. Donna usually keeps me interested, but I think this time she was trying to do too much. I got bored after the first couple of pages, and just could not pick it back up. Hopefully the next one will be more focused on "one or two" individuals instead of six or seven people.
