I’ve only read one book by Ms. Quinn (Conquered by a Highlander) which I enjoyed quite a bit however; I just now had a chance to read more of her work. What great luck to end up with this book which is totally related to Conquered by a Highlander. In fact, the characters are directly related as in they are father and son. Edmund’s dad is Collin McGregor hence the series name The MacGregors: Highland Heirs. This spin off series starts out great and even better than Conquered by a Highlander, it earned a four and half star rating from me.

Amelia is to marry the Chancellor of Scotland, but the decision is not by choice. This marriage is to help her dad’s financial status but obviously, her heart is not in it in the least. Meanwhile, Edmund, a true Scottish patriot has plans to kidnap her in hopes to stop the treaty between Scotland and England. Edmund and his cousins will be successful with their plans but sticking to it will be harder than they thought.

The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell is a wonderfully written Scottish romance. It was filled with light hearted humor and a very sweet romance. Amelia had me laugh out loud with her clumsiness. She truly believed it was a curse that she kept getting into accidents. Edmund, on the other hand, just adored her and found it adorable. During captivity aka hanging out with Edmund and his cousins, Amelia earned their love and respect….earning a permanent spot in their family. They had such a sweet courtship and I have to say it was quite sexy.

Sub stories were quite entertaining, as well. Lucan and Sarah’s relationship started out odd, but it’s one story I really want to read more about. Sarah is such a delight.

Another great romance from Paula Quinn and a great start to the new series, The MacGregors: Highland Heirs.

Highland and highlanders are one of my great weaknesses, and I’m ready for MacGregors. Bring them on Paula!

We start with Edmund MacGregor, a man of principle and strong beliefs in the cause for his beloved Scotland. He will risk his own life before he gives up on them, and to keep his country out of English hands, he comes up with a plan to thwart the men who would be signing a treaty that would see Scotland come under English rule.

Amelia is the niece of the Duke of Queensberry, and the one that our hero plans to abduct for ransom, but what he doesn’t count on is how beautiful, sweet and innocent she is. It was not in his plans for him to fall to her many charms and now he needs to figure out a way to honor his principles and keep Amelia.

Our heroine has the same problem. She is betrothed to the Lord Chancellor of Scotland but soon after she meets our hero, she realizes that she loves him, and she must decide which to honor, her father’s wishes or her love for Edmund.

There is a lot of action and intrigue, passion and intensity in this story that it made for a very enjoyable and fun read. The heroine was cute, charming and innocent while the hero was strong, conflicted and protective.

As usual Ms. Quinn gives us an interesting and fast-moving plot intermingled with historical events, believable three-dimensional characters and villains we can’t wait to get their well deserved demise. I swear the end of this story came way too soon for me. I wanted this story to just keep going and going. It made me laugh and chuckle so much I never realized I hit the end! Highly recommending it to all, but especially to those that love a man in a kilt.

Melanie for b2b.

Brilliantly Written! Epic!

Awesomeness is not a good enough word to describe this brilliantly written story – No I think Epic would sum it up nicely. This captivating story is filled with a humorous seductive romance that kept me glued to the pages and wanting to live in their world forever. The author’s descriptive details of the Highlander’s country side and their clan’s leaves the reader with a breathtaking vision that will forever be melded into your heart. The character’s chemistry and humorous banter will forever have you longing for more of their story.

Edmund MacGregor is a man of his word and beliefs. God-like example of David & Goliath, the metaphor is clearly a Highlander conquering and ending the Giants of Aristocratic Nobility’s political gains. His presence bleeds sexuality with his stance and handsome features, but his voice and actions will melt your heart first with a wanting desire.

Dedicated to his cause for love of country and keeping the English from signing a treaty that will unite Scotland under their rule, he can only come up with one solution and puts the plan in motion to keep the treaty from happening and that is to capture the niece of the Duke of Queensberry. However, what he doesn’t anticipate is falling head over heels in love with his charming captive Miss Amelia Bell. No his adventure turns into not only a win for Scotland but a fight for an unconditional sacrifice for love than to ever live without her.

Amelia has got to be my favorite character of all time. I absolutely loved her. I never laughed so hard – I literally had tears coming out of my eyes with her accident prone actions.
