Down Low No More?,
This review is from: The Seduction of Mr. Bradley (Paperback)
Bill Bradley is a good-looking, charming, and hard-working public relations professional but his world is about to be turned upside down in Minnie E. Miller's novel, The Seduction of Mr. Bradley. Jina Cook is an author in need of a public relations representative and Bill wants to be all that and more. In Jina, Bill has met the woman that could turn his world inside out and make him flip the script - literally. Bill is bisexual and when he falls in love with Jina, he becomes torn between the only woman he has ever loved and Ted, the man who has not only been his lover, but his friend and mentor as well. Ted has always been there for Bill. Bill has a heavy burden. How does he deal with the guilt and choose between the woman he loves and the man who has given him so much? And will Jina stay by his side when she finds out his secret?
In The Seduction of Mr. Bradley, Minnie E. Miller weaves an interesting tale that takes us into the lifestyle of a bisexual male. The characters in this story are well developed and realistic. Even if you do not approve of a gay, bisexual, or "down-low" lifestyle, you will find yourself rooting for Bill as simply a human being trying to find what is really in his heart. The imagery and detail were on point and emotions were high in this novel. You will be glued to the page wondering how it all comes together. Be ready to be surprised. I am very interested to find out what else Ms. Miller has in store for these characters. Reviewed by Donielle APOOO BookClub

Jina Cook is a novelist who needs a public relations representative and she finds him in Bill Bradley who is handsome, well spoken and smart. The two feel an instant attraction towards each other but both try to pretend it is not happening. Finally, Jina makes the first move and Bill knows he can't live without this woman. Unfortunately, Bill has a big secret; he is bisexual and finds himself torn between Jina and Ted, his male lover. Ted is not only his lover but his father figure and the man who rescued Bill when he felt the desperate need for love. He was there for him when he graduated from college, too, to mentor him. Bill's father disappeared when he was quite young and he has always longed for a father and Ted fills that position. Ted also backs his budding PR business and helps him with the business. Bill's decision is tough. Will he drop Ted, despite all the guilt he feels at doing so? Or will he drop Jina? Deep inside he knows he wants a regular life with a wife and children but guilt makes him think twice.
THE SEDUCTION OF MR. BRADLEY is an inside look at what a bisexual male can go through as he searches for what's missing in his life. Minnie E. Miller has done a superb job of describing the pain both Bill and Jina feel about Bill's alternative lifestyle. She describes Bill's life of want and need as a young man very thoroughly and shows Jina has some of the same issues. You find yourself pulling for Bill to just let Ted go but at the same time, you can understand the guilt and pain he must be experiencing at the thought of letting go of the only love he's ever known. Ted is an equally well developed character who exhibits gargantuan selfishness. The ending cries out for a sequel. I feel a desperate need to find out what happens next in these characters lives. Masterful fiction from very talented author...,

"You're in my hands darlin'," are the endearing words that ooze from the enticing Mr. Bill Bradley's lips as he consoles his new client, Jina, an up and coming author and soon to become his love interest, his soul mate even. What happens when Mr. Bradley reveals his bisexuality to the only woman he's ever loved?
MINNIE MILLER delivers a deeply moving and powerful story of love, humankind, and exposes how fragile sex and sensuality truly is. She tastefully draws the reader into the life of a bisexual man, and actually seduces you through Mr. Bradley with his worldly charm, sincerity, and sexual desires, leaving you empathizing for Mr. Bradley and perhaps wanting to "convert" this brother for your own guilty pleasure. The life lessons you gather from The Seduction of Mr. Bradley can only be delivered in this entertaining fashion from a seasoned and gifted writer who provides both substance and an intriguing storyline drenched with heart-pounding situations, heavy emotional scenes and a few surprises in between. Although eloquent in its simplicity, The Seduction of Mr. Bradley would benefit from a more dynamite cover to equal the powerful words within its pages.

The, "Seduction of Mr. Bradley" by Minnie E. Miller, is an exceptional tale. Bill Bradley, a down-low brother, was introduced to the gay lifestyle by Ted Grassley, a businessman with deep pockets. After years in a sordid affair with Ted, Bill meets and falls in love with Jina Cook.
When Bill reveals his dark side to Jina they struggle to find the right path. Can Jina believe Bill with stay with her? Will Bill eventually tire of Jina and wander back across the line? And, what about longtime friend, Samara Kincaid? Does she have anything at stake? Miller's imagery and explicitness of detail will keep the reader glued to his/her seat!!

Ms. Miller did a wonderful job on this work. Bill Bradley had the looks, the charm but he was a torn soul living in two worlds. He enjoyed yet was reticent about his male lover but that didn't stop him from jumping head first into a heterosexual affair. And when he finally admitted his bisexuality, the sparks rightfully flew! I have to give you your props, Ms. Miller. I hoped that the ending wouldn't have been one of a woman denying her beliefs in order to keep a man and you met my expectations. You let us into the mind of a man trying to keep it together while tearing apart. And you did a great job of keeping your female character realistic in her wants, needs and thankfully, sticking to her values. More women should take a page out of this book and realize, walking away is ALWAYS a viable option.

This review is from: The Seduction of Mr. Bradley (Paperback)
The Seduction of Mr. Bradley was very well written. I found myself eagerly reading this unique story about a young man manipulating two love affairs. Ms. Miller's novel will stand the test of time because she cleverly addressed important social and medical issues which concern society as a whole. This book was well thought out and intelligently demonstrated the emotional tug of war Bill suffered when he struggled with bisexually. Everyone will benefit from reading this eye-opening book! "The Seduction..." (as I like to call it) is a book I didn't want to put down! Author Minnie E. Miller is a wonderful writer whose careful attention to detail made me care about each character. In Ms. Miller's portrayal of Mr. Bill Bradley's dilemma, she never strayed from the reality of the sometimes angst/denial of a human being torn between two lovers. One, a successful business man and long-time mentor, the other, a dynamic new woman in Bill's life. The story is outstanding, written with candor, sensitivity and intelligence. I also appreciated the treatment of the sexual encounters - tasteful blends of the sensual, with class, and fun! Bill's life came alive for me; I admire Ms. Miller's ability to get inside the head of the opposite gender and bring it on in a real way. It is clear that Author Miller is a sociologist with a humanistic philosophy, and through her unique storytelling skills - the reader knows the wealth of experience this author has in her storehouse. Miller knows her subjects well and created within me, the taste for more seductive offerings from her pen!

A Very Complicated Love Story,
By
This review is from: The Seduction of Mr. Bradley (Paperback)
The Seduction of Mr. Bradley by Chicago author Minnie E. Miller tells a very different kind of love story, a love story complicated by preferences. These particular preferences are not always understood or accepted by society and that is where it gets complicated. Bill Bradley a bisexual man falls in love with Jina Cook, a straight woman. Mr. Bradley had no intention of falling for Jina, but he was seduced by her good looks, her sensuality and her honesty and innocence. He was also drawn in by the simplicity of her love. Jina had no idea that Bill was bisexual. He knew that once she found out, that he could lose her forever. Would Jina trust his love enough to believe that he could change? Bill was not so sure. The Seduction of Mr. Bradley is a relationship novel. The twist is that this work of fiction explores the complexity of bisexuality from a man's point of view without pages and pages of illicit sex and lust. The sex scenes in this novel are done tastefully. Miller was more interested in putting a human face on men who are attracted to both women and other men,. The author did not sensationalize the subject, but sought, it seemed to explain who these men are. These men have been hated, despised and misunderstood while so many men who have been discovered on the "down low" have come out of the closet. Bill Bradley's story is being played out all over this country, in more instances than we know or imagine. Finally someone tells the story in a way that brings truth and reality to the forefront. It's a story told with compassion. I found that I could not dislike Mr. Bradley; although I truly disliked his lifestyle. His character was just like any other African American male who worked hard at getting to the top of his game as a public relations professional. He was kind, gentle and caring. Bill was good people. He opened his own PR firm with the help of his older lover and mentor, Ted Grassley whom he was linked with until he met and fell in love with Jina Cook, a client who hired him to promote her book. Bill's struggle to find the true desires of his heart is explored in this novel. It is a story that makes you re-think your opinions on alternative lifestyles. Set in Chicago, the author took great care to detail the setting well. You could just picture the places that the characters visited, the structure of the buildings, the surroundings in their living spaces and landmark spots in the Windy City. Miller also gave you secondary characters that you came to like and care about. Bill's best friend and confidante, Samara and her Aunt Mamie, another one of Bill clients, were well developed characters who added to the storyline. How Bill and Jina dealt with his differences and how a family secret from her past contributed to Jina's reaction to Bill's sexuality brings the book to an unexpected ending. I really liked The Seduction of Mr. Bradley and I would recommend this book to those who would enjoy a love story, a love story this is full of humanity and truth. I was expecting a whole lot more based on the other previews. So I was disappointed when I started reading this book. I felt it laced intensity and at times certain things were drawn out. I would recommend borrowing this one.
