5.0 out of 5 stars I will wear out this CD in no time - it's so good !
I had a Narada collection with Oscar Lopez in it and it was so good that I have to have his own CD. According to the review on this site, this should be a good buy and it's true ! I did not regret it at all, I don't care if people saying that this is not true flamenco or not, you must admit that this guy Lopez is a genius musician. All the songs are so good, they have...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pop Flamenco for White Folks
Too bad North America does not get to listen and buy the real Flamenco players of Spain. Oscar is a very talented musician and picks his songs carefully, but to say that he's one of the greatest hes not. Tomatito, Niño Josele, Paco de Lucía, Camarón de la Isla, Enrique Morente, Manolo Sanlúcar, Pepe Habichulela, Serranito, Juan Manuel...

All the songs are so good, they have excellent melody and riffs. My favorites are "The Flavor", "Baila,Baila", "Rosa Rose", "Black guitar", "Loving you" is a beautiful ballad , so as "Vientos del Sur", "Loco por Ti" , and if I have to pick one song from this CD (which is very hard), I have to go with "Gentle Seduction", it has such a haunting melody. The sound quality is excellent except for one "minor" thing: the begining beat of most of the songs are louder than the rest of the song so if you record them on a cassette, adjust to the proper level, otherwise your ears will suffer a little !

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Seduced by Seduction..., July 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Seduction (Audio CD)
I originally came to know this style of music when I received the Narada collection Gypsy Passion as a gift. I loved it so much, I went on to order Gypsy Soul, but also wanted to begin building my own collection of single artists. Of all the talented artists on the collections, my first choice was Oscar because to me he is not only technically superb (as they all are), but also an incredibly passionate artist. His music touches me deeply every time I listen to it - I "see" it so clearly, I could almost paint a picture or write a story. Whether the particular piece is high energy or slow and romantic, you will definitely FEEL it! Fantastic work - excellent CD - I would highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Increible!, August 23, 2003

I have been a big fan of guitar music for the last 30 years. There have only been a handful of musicians that have impressed me. Oscar Lopez is one of them. I bought this album a couple of years ago...along with others like Jesse Cook and Ottmar. This album is an incredible piece of work. I play this album over and over and find new riffs that I discover. The music penetrates your soul and is addicting. All of the songs are excellent. My favorites are; Baila, Baila, Cerca de Ti, Corrientes, Gentle Seduction, and Mulata. I highly recommend this album...it is well worth a listen but once you hear it, you'll get hooked, Oscar is so passionate in his playing, you can almost see him play the guitar.

This CD will sweep the listener to a musiclandscape of lush color and passions. Evoking emotions of yearning, desire and all the subtle nuances of love. My favorite is definately the melodic and hypnotizing track "Loving You" which flows with seducive musical magnetism. Listen once and you will want to listen a thousand times more. Try it.

I just thought anyone interested in this cd or Oscar Lopez's genius in songwriting and playing MUST consider buying a copy of Dancing on the Moon Contigo. This Cd is apparently no longer made, and definitely hard to find, as it is not even listed here on Amazon, but if you dig through your local used cd stores, there are copies still around. This cd shows Oscar's immense songwriting diversity unlike any other cd I have heard from him. It is INCREDIBLE. Oscar's cut from the Narada compilation album "Gypsy Passion" is taken straight out of this album. Trust me. It is worth the time and effort to find. Please Email me if you know of anyone else that holds a candle to Oscar or his taste in guitar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, relaxing, perfect for every mood., June 19, 1999

I find myself hearing new things every time I listen to this CD. I have introduced several of my friends to this particular album and have gotten the same reaction from everyone--they loved it-from rock fans to country fans..We decorated for my wedding reception to this music-really set the mood. I am sending this to my girlfriend in Il. for her B-day today-- and I will sum this up by saying--having a love for music all my life--If I had to choose a piece of music to hear over and over-it would be at this time "Seduction" by Oscar Lopez.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passion runs through Oscar's guitar like electricity ..., October 1, 2000
By
This review is from: Seduction (Audio CD)
I don't know if 'seduced' is the word to describe the feeling after hearing Oscar's pieces, because the listening experience is certainly not a one-night-stand! He proves himself as a consistently remarkable acoustic-guitar performer with this marvelous collection; he certainly did not slow down after 'Heat' ... the passion is still fiery and consuming in every piece he does. One particularly slow track, 'Loving You', drove me crazy ... it's unbearably romantic, especially with that cello in the background. All in all, this CD ranks among the best instrumental compilations ever released in the modern flamenco age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wearing my CD out, July 8, 2000

I have both the "Heat" and "Seduction" CD's by Oscar Lopez and listen to both of them with wonder. This man is magic. I have about 20 "new flaminco" CD's and these are right at the top as far as my tastes are concerned. Oscar, if you're listening, I check at least once a month for your next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oscar Lopez Seduces You, July 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Seduction (Audio CD)
"Seduction" is an excellent follow-up to "Heat". It continues his feel for the guitar, melody, rythmn, and tremendous ability to grab the listener and not let go. "Cerca de Ti" is a great number, guaranteed to keep your hips moving, while "Loving You" has got to be one of the most beautiful and gentle nouveau flamenco numbers I've ever heard.

I have all of his work through Canada. It's a shame he's not more well known in the USA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Latin guitar, upbeat throughout., November 29, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Seduction (Audio CD)
I bought this CD (my first from Lopez) after sampling for only a minute or two at a listening station. He reminds me of Ottmar Liebert, Gipsy Kings and the fastest of Willie and Lobo but I think he is more skilled. If you like Latin guitar, you'll love this work. The only downside is that all cuts are fast, with no slower pieces to break up the pace.
