Fall into the Abyss of Erotic Horror, April 12, 2000
This review is from: Seductions (Hardcover)
A high school teacher, plagued by grisly dreams that begin to haunt his daytime hours, teams up with a telepathic woman to solve the dark enigma surrounding a series of gruesome murders . . . one of which involves a close friend. However, they might not like what they find beyond the nightmarish visions and mysterious killings. Ray Garton's Seductions is not his best work, but the highly visual, cinematic-like plot is involving. Likeable characters, tight yet fluid prose, and disturbing scenes are part of his forte, and Seductions contains them all. Those with weak stomachs should be forewarned.

Unique, chameleon-type creatures who want your flesh, February 14, 2007
Not only is Ray Garton's 'Seductions' a uniquely twisted horror tale, but a very fast read as well. Donald Ellis, high school teacher, is haunted by a horrifying dream which is depriving him of sleep. He falls apart, both on and off the job, eventually earning him a leave of absence from his employer. Donald's brother Bill meets a strange new woman, and its not long before Bill turns up like a flood of other missing persons, leaving behind no body but a large pool of blood.
There are creatures stalking the night in human skins, alien things with lustful hungers and razor sharp fangs that want to seduce you away from your flesh. With Donald's sanity on the edge and his relationship with fellow teacher Anne Cramer gone sour, Donald feels there is nothing left for him to live for when young Fredericka (Freddie) Santos mysteriously shows up on his doorstep.
Freddie lets Donald know he isn't alone in his ability to sense the creatures, and together the two of them make a pact to find out what's happening in their small town. The popular school teacher and the teenage girl, together with seasoned detective Lewis Walther, cross the boundaries of sanity to discover what is lurking in the shadows, and feeding on the townspeople. Call them Vampires, Succubi, Incubi, or whatever you will, they are intelligent chameleons whose only intent is to feed on human desire - and human flesh.
Garton's characters and fully fleshed and easy to associate with, his monsters horrific and scary, which makes this book a very fast and easy read. You can finish it in one night, but leave a light on and lock your windows. There are some dated references to Atari game systems and VHS players, (the book was first published in 1984) but those are easy to slide past. Garton gives an entire new meaning to the stroke and choke death, creating a meet and eat demise that is unique and terrifyingly cruel. Don't miss out on this book if you love good horror. Enjoy!

I read this book years ago and it haunted me until I found it on Amazon and bought it. If you like white knuckle reading, then this is the book for you!
