This little periscope fits nicely on the top of my flat screen LCD monitor, and does exactly what it advertises: Places a small reflection of my Quicktime screen right in front of my Webcam, so that when I record messages, or tape guitar lessons for online students, I actually appear to be looking at them instead of something low on my screen. My videos are much warmer and more personable now! I was surprised to find such a useful tool at such a reasonable price.

This is better than anything else I've tried. It was easy setup, and easy to use. The only thing is that I'm 52, and I don't see like a 17-year-old. So I have to blow the text up pretty big to see it. Scrolling through the text is easy, and it will just take a little editing at the front and end of the videos to take out the fumbling between my script and my camera software.

This is a great idea! You get to look into the eyes of the person you're talking to. But in actual use, it doesn't work with anything but the smallest webcams (my Logitech 9000 is too wide). The ball-on-a-post kind work OK. Additionally, for it to work, you need a very small screen. Otherwise, the view of your friend in Estonia or Chicago (or anyplace else, for those of you who take everything literally) is too far down the screen for the (fixed) lower mirror to catch. I wanted it to also act as a teleprompter, which would be fine if the mirrors were larger and adjustable...But, alas, they are not. I am building my own, with the lower mirror separate so I can simply lift it off the screen when I don't need it, rather than discombobulate the whole thing, and lose the camera over the back of my computer desk and into the valley of the lost, etc., whenever I try to mount or de-mount this thing. It does work - if you get everything just right AND you have a small screen AND you use the "Pop-Out" feature of Skype, or something like it to position the other person's image behind the lower mirror. Otherwise, it is a waste of money.
