Book Description

September 18, 2009
The experience of practising yoga is an internal one. This is true for all styles of yoga and for beginners right through to advanced students and teachers. Scaravelli inspired, this book was developed as a practical guide. The aim is to give practical help with useful visualisations that can actually support you in the postures. The book is not meant for complete beginners, but once you begin to know the postures it can be used alongside other books and classes to help deepen understanding and enrich your practice. Yoga should be an enjoyable experience. Using this book should be enjoyable too.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Su has been practising yoga for 30 years and teaching for 20. She is also a regular columnist in Yoga & Heath magazine. While her own style of yoga keeps developing, some themes remain constant, like listening to and working with the body, paying total attention to what is actually happening while using the breath and gravity. Key teachers have been Vanda Scaravelli and John Stirk. In advertising Su was trained to sum up and present often complicated and low interest information in as attractive and inviting a way as possible. In many ways this book is the outcome of this unusual combination of visual professional communication experience, and 30 years of yoga practice.

This review is from: See How Yoga Feels: Visualisations To Help The Practice Of Yoga (Paperback)
This book approaches the subject of the postures from a completely new angle. Many of the ideas, all beautifully expressed with drawings by the author, will change the way you think about an asana and also what it is doing for you. The visual nature of the book means it works for everyone with a basic knowledge of the subject; teachers will find it especially useful becomes of the ideas you can use in your own classes. A completely different book to any other yoga book in approach and layout. Well worth getting hold of.
