She has been really struggling this year trying to learn how to read (she's in second grade now). But she actually took this up to her room and told me she wanted to read this by herself -and she did!

I loved the illustrations and I could relate to anna maria crying when her lunch and swimsuit got switched with her brothers gym clothes at home, and I could relate to the girl who was afraid to go in the water. Basically the class goes on a trip to the beach at the end of their first grade year and lots of fun stuff happens and they have a picnic and all.
