3.0 out of 5 stars Inconsistant Age Appropriateness, Average Pictures November 3, 2012

This is a book where you are shown a drawing and little dashes for spelling out the word (the first letter is given). The pictures are what one would expect to find in any workbook, very simple little icons. My main issue is that the age appropriateness of the words changes drastically. This would not matter if it was just a letter book, but for spelling this inconsistency is problematic as "egg" would be too easy for the person who can spell "dolphin".

So while it might be a fun little book verbally, i.e. asking the child to say what the picture was and what letter it started with I'm not sure how effective a writing book it is.
