A neat and unusual show,

The book for this show is a fascinating read as you see how Michael John Lachiusa puts the pieces of the puzzle together. As with other mostly sung shows like "Falsettos" I highly recommend buying the cast recording and listening to it as the songs appear (a great CD of a great production, so it's definitely worth your money and your time). The only minor drawback is the formatting. I'm guessing that the publishers wanted to fit this in as few pages as humanly possible, so the formatting makes it a little difficult to tell who's speaking and singing when. After a few pages you get used to it, but nonetheless something to note. A very worthy and interesting read.

I'm so glad I bought this script.
I had to do a scene for my acting class, and I did the scene with the actress and priest from Act II: Gloryday. It's one of the best scenes and one of the best plays I've ever read. I also got an A+ on my scene assignment. Anyone who loves acting or singing or just reading scripts should get this. |
