unbelievable,
This review is from: See You in Morning (Audio CD)
This album simply stunning, there's no other way to put it. I listened to it after hearing them on Essential Lounge. There is 1 song on the album that I'm not a fan of, besides that it is literally a musical orgasm for 12 tracks. If this group doesn't take over and dominate the electronica scene at some point it will be the biggest tragedy in musical history, they're that good. Something New became my favourite song ever INSTANTLY. Just buy it, it's the best album I've ever heard.

I was browsing in my locla music store, when I came across the new Mint Royale album (finding anything by Mint Royale in my city is damn near impossible, even if you order it in...). Going on the fact that I liked their other two albums (that I know of...), I bought this one without listening to it. In this case, taking that risk proved to be worthwhile. This disc sounds new, but it has a lot of nostalgia, harkening back to their On The Ropes days. Namely tracks like Something New, which sounds like Show Me (because of the rapping), and Don't Falter (because of the sung pop vocals). Other tracks like Wait For You also have a nostalgic aire bout them, while tracks like I Don't Care and See You In The Morning definately offer something new, the latter almost sounding like a post-rock ballad in certain parts. The only track I didn't take a liking to is their remake of Singing In The Rain, which, oddly enough, seems to be their first single. It's a shame these guys aren't able to garner a larger audience, their music is both refreshing and catchy. It would appeal to both fans of independent electronic or pop, as well as some fans of more mainstream music.
