5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, September 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Seed of a Nation : Reconciling with the Birth of America (Paperback)
This is a great book that makes the history of William Penn and his unique approach to governing interesting, even to a non-history lover like me! I was fascinated to read about Penn's moral convictions and how he acted on those convictions in founding Pennsylvania. This book gives the account of how Penn treated the Native Americans as equals and partners. It also tells of how the covenant between Pennsylvania and the Native Americans was broken and the resulting discord that followed. It is a call back to the moral fortitude that Penn displayed and a call for reconcilliation between all peoples of this nation.
