Book Description

*** BESTSELLER in Vegetable Gardening ***

Most keen gardeners decide at some stage that they want to save their own seed. Raising your own seedlings is extremely satisfying. I still find it so exciting and heart-warming when I grow beautiful, healthy plants from seed that I have collected myself. Watching a seed germinate, become a seedling, and then mature gives me such joy and deep satisfaction. It is witnessing and participating in the miracle of life!

I want to share with you how to save yourself a small fortune by collecting your own seeds and saving them for the next gardening season. This is a guide to getting the best results when saving your own seeds.

In this book you'll learn:
  • How to avoid common mistakes
  • Know that you are growing totally organically
  • Learn about germination requirements for plant families
  • Plant life cycles
  • Seed viability, pollination and isolation distances
  • Best ways to store your seeds

Happy Organic Gardening, Healthy Living....

~Julie

I have always wondered how to save seeds and this book is truly an excellent guide for anyone interested in saving their own seeds from their own gardens. With all the chemical treated seeds along with the gene modified seeds its a good thing to learn how to save your own seed from year to year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seed Saving Savings July 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
By golly finally a book for us normal folk. The art and science of seed saving is just that - an art and a science ... however, our author has gone beyond the hype and gives us not only specific techniques for saving seeds for a countless number of options - but, detailed information on each option is clearly presented. Expert gardeners as well as the novice & beginner will benefit greatly from the shared expertise and local (and adaptable) knowledge on seed starting techniques. I can easily see this being an 'in-print' book to be utilized time and again and eventually acknowledged as one of the best 'actual hands-on' guides available. A concise and distilled theme pervades the writing - directly from some of the best information from researchers and 'real' seed savers. And - lastly - but, not least-of-all - everything is presented from an 'organic' philosophy and view-point. What more could we ask for .... !!!!!!

If you have any experience with gardening, this book is too simplistic. If you have zero experience, this book might have something new to teach you.

Very basic, very short. Expected more detailed and specific seed saving information. Guess this could be a decent starter guide for someone with no gardening experience.
