Publishers Weekly-
Recent news headlines have focused on the disagreement between the U.S. and Europe over genetically modified foods: the U.S. exports them, but the European Union doesn't want to import them, believing their safety remains unproven. Are genetically modified foods safe? Longtime anti-GM foods campaigner Smith presents the "opposing" case. He offers cases where GM produced results that were at best unexpected (increased starch content in potatoes), at worst grotesque (pigs without genitals). He describes how one corporation reportedly tried to bribe Canadian government scientists into approving genetically engineered bovine growth hormones they deemed unsafe; how some scientists have reported their careers were threatened as a result of their refusal to approve certain GM products in the U.S.; and how "conflicts of interest, sloppy science, and industry influence" can distort the approval process. The cases Smith presents are scary and timely, but he explores only one side of the story. Readers looking for a balance consideration of genetically modified foods will want to look elsewhere.

Most of us do not know what Genetically Modified Organisms are, let alone that they have been added to our diet, with potentially deadly results. As major food corporations have attempted to play God with our food supply, all in the name of more profits, they have made consumers their guinea pigs. Learn how these GMO's have not been thoroughly tested for long term affects on humans, yet have been allowed to be added to the U.S. food supply, though numerous countries worldwide have banned the same GMO's. There are also stories of scientists that have attempted to raise alerts regarding these GMO's and have been threatened for their efforts. All food is not created equal, and you need to learn why. Read this book.

Monsanto doesn't want you to read this book. They know you will be angry. And you will be totally right to be angry.

First of all, let's examine closely what a corporation like Monsanto is. Big corporations always try to get hold on a monopoly. The advantage of a monopoly is that the free market is eliminated. Think oil, central banks, patented drugs, patented pesticides, etc. More recently genetically modified seeds were developed, 75 % of which are engineered to withstand the otherwise deadly application of an herbicide - naturally : the brand the same corporation produces ("Roundup Ready"). Excellent news for stockholders of Monsanto, but what's in it for us, poor consumers ? Well, actually, as this book explains very well : absolutely nothing.

This was a huge challenge for the marketing department of Monsanto to start with. They try to sell us the idea that GM crops will "eliminate hunger in the Third World". This is absurd : hunger is not caused by lack of food, but by its unequal distribution. Therefore, the Rockefeller Foundation came up with another strategy. They funded the development of "golden rice", which would "prevent blindness and infection in millions of children' suffering from vitamin-A deficiency". Or how to complicate a simple problem. Why not educate poor people to grow vegetables on the margins of their rice fields ? Or why not considering distributing vitamin A tablets ? "At a cost of only $.05 per tablet, only $25,000 is needed to prevent 500,000 children from going blind per year. Contrast this with golden rice, which has cost more than $100 million dollars so far, and is not yet ready", the author says. On top of this, the "golden rice" provides so little vitamin A a two-year-old child would need to eat seven pounds per day.

This is one of the best topics covered today by Mr. Smith and very in depth as well. He tells us who is and how we are being deceived through the genetic engineering of our main food supplies. He has very astutely pointed out the problem how to deal with it and what political means we can take to stand up for our rights to not be poisoned.

Maybe, just maybe, if every law maker would read this book, and/or every voter held their feet to the fire, this nightmare could end some day. EVERYONE should read this book, whether from a moral (all the lies), health (all the DNA damage we will face), ecological (cross pollination, destroyed native plants), economic (talk about a monopoly; buy my seeds or starve), religious (Leviticus 19:19)...it is beyond the pale of human imagination that this is happening with government approval. No, more, with government running interference. Buy your openpollinted seeds now before it is FOREVER too late.

So the Rockefellers and their gang of international gangster/bankers are at it again- this time centralizing control over the world's food supply. Perenial Rockefeller cheerleader and sycophant Henry Kissinger apparently dreamed up this scheme, and even has the gaul to gush over how control over the world food supply can be used as a weapon against anybody who opposes his psychopath bosses. As usual there is abundant solid doucmentation of everything, yet "somehow" no attention is paid by the mainstream media. Oh, by the way: those genetically modified foods you're eating (to include 89% of the U.S. soy crop, and >80% of the U.S. corn crop) may modify bacteria growing in your gut, possibly leading to allergies, altered antibiotic resistance, and other health problems. Get on the phone to your Senator, because this isn't coming- it's here.

All of this information is excellent. Well presented and clear. Jeffrey Smith really knows his stuff. Even with my existing knowledge about genetically modified foods, including training with Smith himself, I learned a lot from the book and from the videos. The book is can't-put-it-down engaging, though in a rather horrifying way, given the issues it addresses. The videos and audio are excellent for sharing with others.
