5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome, uplifting and touching book.
I must say this was a very uplifting book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It made me laugh at times and it made me cry. It sent me on a wonderful inspirational journey. This book came into my life at a time when I needed a little intervention. I needed to "see" into the lives of other people at that time. I thought my whole world was crashing down around...

1.0 out of 5 stars Preachy and self righteous
This is a preachy and self righteous collection of writings by Christian fundamentalists. They claim to draw on the mustard seed metaphor but when I read it, I did not see seeds of faith growing, but instead experienced a drought - true Christian love and caring are missing, and I asked- where is the joy?

I must say this was a very uplifting book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It made me laugh at times and it made me cry. It sent me on a wonderful inspirational journey. This book came into my life at a time when I needed a little intervention. I needed to "see" into the lives of other people at that time. I thought my whole world was crashing down around me and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing along with some of the stories.

At first I thought well I'll just read one story for right now. But, when I finished,I found myself going on to the next one and the next until I was totally absorbed into the book.

I must say I enjoyed the recipes also. I thought the choices of the play on words in the recipes were very cleaver and I even enjoyed that.

I have to say this is definetly a must read. It is not to heavy and you might find yourself laughing out loud. I haven't had a chance to try out the recipes yet but there was a lot of them I am anxious to try.

I am sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Food for my soul, July 2, 2003

I think Seeds of Faith was like food for my soul. I laughed through some stories and felt sad trough others. I think that anybody that likes to read a good story to their children on a rainy day will love to get this book. Every story in it has lessons to be learned. The main purpose of this book is to let people know that even when they are completely alone GOD is still with them. I read it and my mother is one of the authors so I got to read the stories before they were all put together into the book, and if it wasn't for readers like you and so many others it would not have happened. So thank you so much for checking this book and thinking about reading it. I hope you enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It nourishes your mind, heart, and soul!, June 8, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Seeds of Faith: An Inspirational Almanac: Seasonal Essays, Recipes and Tips (Paperback)
I love Seeds of Faith! It nourishes your mind, heart, and soul. I like it because it has good stories that point to God and let you know that He is real and alive. It lets you know about things that have happened in peoples lives. It also has funny stories and sweet and sad stories that you enjoy reading over again.
My mom is one of the writers. I helped her write "Epeche, the Unchosen." I took prayer breaks with her so she chould ask God for more words or a better way to put a phrase.

Most of the stories were very exciting and fun to read. I enjoyed "Epeche, the Unchosen," "Swattin' Skeeters," the story about our Mercy Tree, and "A Bikers Gift." I like the cover. It attracts your attention so you want to read it and get interested in it. I like the way one of the poems is shaped, and the poems themselves.
I enjoy knowing that people I know wrote this book.

Four ordinary women, one extraordinary book. Beautiful and sometimes humorous stories, recipes, poems, tips, bible references, and MORE make up this amazing book. Carry it with you to read on trips and in waiting rooms. Try a new recipe. Take it to bed, and find the nighttime reading that's just right. In the morning, begin your day with prayer, and a story to think about all day. This is the kind of book to weave into your life every day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Inspired!, September 17, 2003
This review is from: Seeds of Faith: An Inspirational Almanac: Seasonal Essays, Recipes and Tips (Paperback)
Seeds Of Faith - An Inspirational Almanac is the rarest kind of book - a candid memoir of true life that is riveting and profoundly encouraging to others. I don't know a man or woman who couldn't learn from it.
This heartfelt masterpiece reminds me of my sisters and home. I can't wait to get back and give them both a big hug and a kiss. Thanks so much for printing this book, and making one American Serviceman's duty a little easier!

5.0 out of 5 stars Seeds of Faith sown with love, laughter, wisdom, June 5, 2003
This review is from: Seeds of Faith: An Inspirational Almanac: Seasonal Essays, Recipes and Tips (Paperback)
Can you read just one? We may never know. Marvelous stories, enticing recipes, beneficial tips, indispensable references, and rapturous poetry will elevate and inflame your soul.
I started reading this magnificent collection just at bedtime, took it into the kitchen to try a recipe (YUM!), read it during a long soak in the tub, and finally ended up carrying it with me everywhere I went! I almost didn't want the cars ahead of me in line to start moving once I got involved in a story, and time never went so quickly in the doctor's office! Even reading stories a second time, I laughed and cried. The poems were even better the second and third time I read them, because I got something new out of them each time. I took it on a trip and read it under a tree by a lake. I had it in my purse while I shopped for my local Food Pantry and I recommended it to everyone. I read the story about the peach to a group of children.
I cried with Thunderbird's family (Alaine Benard), blushed while trying on a swimsuit with Angie Ledbetter, laughed when Deb Flynt went down with the boat, and moved with Carol Schwartz across the country away from family and friends.
I've had salad, main courses, breads, desserts, and snacks from the pages of Seeds of Faith.
I read it in the morning before I get up, sitting on the deck, in the tub (once or twice with the clove recipe in it), and at night before sleep. I've never had a book that I could do so much with, or that fit into my life so well. It goes wherever I go. I'm giving it for graduation and Christmas this year, and I recommend it for the special people on your list, too.
