Comment: This book has already been loved by someone else. It MIGHT have some wear and tear on the edges, have some markings in it, or be an ex-library book. Over-all itâ?TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

"...I learned, for example, ways of looking that I have not ceased to think about." -- Wendell Berry, poet

"This is a wonderful book full of wisdom about the creative process and a work of art in itself." -- Susan Griffin, writer and poet

About the Author

Ann O'Hanlon has been a magnet and mentor to thousands, opening up the world in all its richness and detail to artists and non-artists alike. Head of the Art Department at Dominican College in San Rafael, CA, she retired to give her own kind of free-wheeling workshops in perception and self discovery through looking at nature and the making of art. O'Hanlon believed that each person's deep well of creativity was there to be explored and released whether the person was artist or non-artist. Born in Kentucky, world traveled, O'Hanlon lived in Mill Valley, CA where she continued to lead workshops until nearly the end. She died in 1998 at the age of ninty. Her work is carried on by Sight and Insight, Inc.

Format: Paperback
The poetry of Ann O'Hanlon, enhanced in Seeing/Perception: Looking At The World Through An Artist's Eye with the photography of Ann & Dick O'Hanlon, examines the creative process through a continuous exploration of ideas, materials, and images. Practice: on a piece of paper/a brown shopping bag will serve well/or the want ad section of a newspaper/or an old unwanted letter/spread some sort of adhesive/white glue or library past/place into the glue bits and pieces that can be picked up/from outside or inside the house/don't search out pretty things/but simply use what happens to be there/the strategy lies in the visual adventure after the piece has dried/the discovery of the inevitable fact that/normally unassociated parts/can and do work together/by virtue of being in the same environment.
