Cool New Punk Band!!!!,
By Curtis (North Kingstown, RI USA) - See all my reviews

Liveon Release is an awesome all-girl Punk outfit from Canada and are very talented and creative. With songs like "Emotional griptape" and "Hardcore" , listeners hear their hard side and with songs like "I'm Afraid of Britney Spears" listeners hear their humorous nature and hard hitting hooks in their choruses. If your tired of the norm then check this cd out it is amazing and enjoyable to all punk/pop fans.

LiveOnRelease -- Award, anyone?,

LOR. New Canadian band to start a career that will probably make it big pretty soon in the States. Oh, but there's a catch. They're girls. That's right, LiveOnRelease is a girl rock band that's had the single 'I'm afraid of Britney Spears', a song about...well, the title explains it all, I think. Need some time off of guy bands? This mix of Halfcocked, Letters from Cleo, and Bif Naked will cure it.

I just absolutely love this album I can listen to it over and over and never get sick of any of the songs. If you have this and like it you should get their new album "Goes On A Field Trip" its just as good if not better. Here's how I rated the songs: 1. Don't Leave Me Alone 10/10 - My fav song off the whole album 2. Hardcore 9/10 - Took awhile to grow on me but it pretty great 3. Johnny Johnny 10/10 - another fav very catchy and mellow 4. Emotional Griptape 10/10 - another fav i love the video as well 5. Slow Down 9/10 - I like the lyrics and the music I just don't really like Colette's voice in this song 6. I'm Afraid Of Britney Spears 10/10 - just brilliant 7. All Night Long 7/10 - alot of repitition and is like 6 mins long its the worst track on the album but its still pretty good colette's voice is at its best in this song 8. Get With It 10/10 - This is my 2nd fav song on the album I just really love the lyrics and its pretty catchy 9. Fake 10/10 10. Why 10/10 11. Dirt 10/10 9,10,11 are all pretty similar but I love them all

Only one other reviewer had it correct. This is no better nor worse than Brittany Spears or Avril Lavigne. If you like that trash, then you'll like this.
On the other hand, I do suppose it's better than Bruce Springsteen or Bon Jovi.

I don't know the story behind this band, how they got together or anything like that - but this album is awesome! LOR has great talent, great lyrics, and this album wis so much better than any of the pop-puk albums released in the U.S.I wish thier new album would be released at stores other than thier own website so it would be easier to get.

This is a wicked new all girl punk band.It sucks that you cant buy this album here in england.I have only listened to the album with songs off of napster.I think the stuff is excellent....i have 2 fave songs..."Dirt" and "Fake" (especially when it slows down in the chorus). I think that they will make it big...but they need to get heard....or should i say to get more publicity.I may be sounding really stupid coz i dont actually know how big they are in the states or canada but they need to get heard over here in england. Oh and Colette is sexy and she has a wicked voice....especially in the chorus' (as most of them she sounds really sexy...lol)

Waiting for their second album...,

Anyone who gets this album is in for a good time. The songs on here are all really good. They're making a second album now, and they're only juniors in high school. These songs really speak to teenagers and their "issues." I'm one of those teens. I'd really like to go up to Ontario to hear them live. They're my favorite band, and I live in Texas. LiveonRelease Rules!! Enjoy the CD...

live on release are one of the best 4 part canadian girl bands, of the 2002, there music is unique, there own and addictive e.g im a fraid of britney speirs and why.If only l.o.r could get more publicity an air play in the uk, they would be big, like also another band bif naked, great band but very unknown in the uk.

Punk?!?,
By Cassie (Washington D.C.) - See all my reviews

Are you serious? These girls are about as "punk" as Avril Lavigne. This Cd is a terrible choice of music if you really are into the whole "punk" scene. The music is very amatuer, only a slight array of different chords and the beats are choppy and irregular. Not only that, but the girls cant really sing either. And about making fun of that whole "pop" genre of music ("I'm Afraid of Britney Spears"), thats being very hypocritical for these girls are about as "pop" as you can get. I am very sorry for anyone who owns this garbage.
