2.0 out of 5 stars Too Smooth for my taste
I'm not going to diss this album, but the direction beanfield has evolved in just doesn't interest me. Almost every track has vocals, very smooth soulful light R&B vocals. Great brunch music. Not very exciting though.

5.0 out of 5 stars definitely NOT worth the wait!, April 4, 2004
This review is from: Seek (Audio CD)
My original review: "Not as intense as HUMAN PATTERNS, which was an incredible, breakthrough type of new sound, but worth the five-year wait!" In retrospect, I was just being kind because I loved HUMAN PATTERNS so much. I've hardly listened to this CD since I first got it. HUMAN PATTERNS was SO incredible, SO groundbreaking, SO amazing, the type of CD you would turn off all the lights and blast it at top volume and just sit there being amazed!!! This is a "nice" CD. Some of the vocals are very "nice". But nowhere near HUMAN PATTERNS which is one of the BEST CDs I've bought in the last 10 years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beanfield - Seek, May 12, 2011
This review is from: Seek (Audio CD)
Beanfield has always been attuned to downtempo jazz, and their 3rd album, SEEK, doesn't stray from this. Ernesto certainly adds some soul to the pizzicato strings of "Chosen" and the smooth house vibe of "Someone Like You." But it's Bajka who adds the most vocal spice, with her unique phrasing and moments of spoken word on "Tides" or the twinkling electro of "Home." But Beanfield does just as well with its instrumentals. Check out the upbeat organ chords and bleeping on "Vertigoheel" or the graceful clarinet and trumpet on "Cargo." A nifty little album.
